The statement reads:
"Not withstanding our extensive Talent Wellness Program for current Superstars, WWE goes to great lengths to help our former talent who may have substance abuse problems, offering complete drug rehabilitation at no cost to them. Ultimately, however, stars in any form of entertainment should be held personally responsible for their own actions. Prescription drug overdose is a problem not only with former WWE talent, but society as a whole according to the Center for Disease Control, as it is the second leading cause of unintentional death (particularly among younger people) in the U.S."
]]>Tara, who's real name is Lisa Marie Varon, announced on her MySpace account in late April that she would be leaving TNA Wrestling the following month after refusing to re-sign with the company. To explain her pending departure from the organization, Tara challenged Madison Rayne to a match at Sacrifice, where she would put her career on the line against Rayne's Women's Knockout Championship. Tara was defeated by Rayne and her TNA Wrestling career came to an end.
After her wrestling career came to a halt, Varon continued to discuss a new contract with TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter. She returned to the organization on July 11 at Victory Road as a heel, hiding behind a motorcycle helmet and attacking Angelina Love during her match for the Women's Knockout Championship.

Hart is claiming that he entered rehab at the urging of his uncle, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart, who said that if he successfully completes the center's program, would persuade WWE to give him another shot.
During his last run with AAA, Hart managed to unite the entire locker room against him due to his reputation of changing match finishes and spots to put himself over. His mentality is to perform as many flashy maneuvers in his matches as possible, whether they make sense or not.

-- WWE Women's Champion Layla is apparently through with Twitter for the time being as she wrote over the weekend that she 'needs a break from some of the bs' on the social networking site.
She tweeted, "I think I'm officially off Twitter I need a break from some of the bs on here Tired of some I****S!! Having easy access 2 Me Much luv Lay."
The tweet came just hours after her response to recent jabs from TNA Wrestling performers "The Beautiful People" made its way onto a number of wrestling websites. There is an unconfirmed rumor going around saying that WWE brass caught wind of the "war of words" and became upset with Layla for taking part.
]]>“In no way am I being self-deprecating when I say that was a disaster,” Long said. “It was just not the audience to be promoting a movie like that to. We were so out of place. It was just awkward. They’re all fired up to see guys pummeling each other, not to see three nerdy comedy guys do some bits. They played the trailer for this crowd and it just silenced them — and not in a good way.”
Long continued, saying the crowd in Los Angeles looked like they were ready to attack him and his fellow co-hosts.
“We were in Los Angeles at the Staples Center, and the only time we really had the audience on our side was when we were praising the Lakers. And before that I think the majority of them were contemplating throwing things at us. There were a few homophobic remarks. I don’t want to generalize it, I know some wrestling fans. But it’s just not the audience.”

]]>We've received word that WWE has signed or is close to signing 6-foot 9-inch female independent wrestler Isis The Amazon to a developmental deal. (Pictures)
She recently attended WWE's week-long talent search at Florida Championship Wrestling and has been spotted at a few developmental shows in recent weeks.
Isis is taller than any Diva to ever a grace a WWE ring and is bigger than most of the WWE roster. Standing at 6-feet 9-inches tall, the larger-than-life woman got a lot of attention at WWE's recent week-long evaluation at Florida Championship Wrestling. To put into perspective just show tall Isis is, she would tower over guys like John Cena and Randy Orton and is just a few inches shorter than the Big Show.
Besides wrestling, Isis has also done some modeling and acting work.

WWE has announced a huge 5-on-5 elimination match main event for the special broadcast.
Sheamus, John Cena, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and Edge will square off against The Nexus' Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Heath Slater, Michael Tarver and Justin Gabriel.
-- To follow up on the news that a giant 6-foot-9 Diva was at WWE's recent training camp at Florida Championship Wrestling, we can confirm "Isis The Amazon" has been at recent FCW events. At Friday night’s FCW show, Isis was spotted with FCW staff and talent, including Alicia Fox’s sister, Christina Crawford. Isis asked FCW staff if it was okay for her to take pictures with fans, which she did.

Cena has played action hero tough-guy roles in "The Marine" and "12 Rounds," but plays a sensitive character in Legendary. "I’m used to dodging bullets and explosions. And this is more of a dramatic piece.’’
Despite making a few movies already, Cena admits he's still "fairly inexperienced when it comes to cinematic acting’’ but hopes to continue his acting career."
Randy Orton Pulled From Match Sunday and details on Fans Brawling Over John Cena T-Shirt
Randy Orton
was dealing with a sore neck and shoulder following last night's Raw live event in Wildwood, New Jersey, where he faced Sheamus in a Lumberjack Match with Nexus. He was therefore placed in a Six-Man Tag Team
Match at today's Raw live event in Newark, New Jersey so he could have a lighter workload.
The advertised main event was a Steel Cage Match between Orton and Sheamus, while John Cena was scheduled for a Six-Man Tag Team Match against Nexus. An angle was conducted at the beginning of the show where Sheamus attacked Cena and Nexus attacked Chris Jericho, leading Orton and Daniel Bryan to perform a run-in.
Orton sparingly wrestled during the match and did not perform the RKO
. He did, however, strike Michael Tarver with a punt to the head in the aftermath of the bout.
Orton's injury is not immediately being considered serious, but he will likely have it checked out tomorrow.
-- A brawl broke out amongst fans at today's Raw live event in Newark, New Jersey over a T-shirt John Cena had thrown to the crowd just before his Steel Cage Match with Sheamus.

Following the recent arrest of and reported suspension of WWE

“WWE are aware of the situation and have taken appropriate disciplinary action.”
Tiffany was recently arrested at a Los Angeles hotel when a dispute with her husband, WWE superstar Drew McIntyre, resulted in hotel security calling police.
A WWE insider told the Daily Recrd, “Taryn has been kept off the shows to give the authorities the required time to investigate. The bosses see it primarily as a personal issue but they have to keep a close eye on the legal proceedings.”
The source added, “If she is not charged with any wrongdoing, she will be welcomed back.”

Kurt Angle says he’s going to continue wrestling full-time until his TNA deal expires in a year, but after that, he’ll have to evaluate his future.
In an interview with Kevin Eck of the Baltimore Sun, Angle said, “I believe that you’re not going to see much more of Kurt Angle.”
“Financially, I’m fine,” he said.. “The hard part about leaving wrestling is I’ll miss it. I have a couple of food companies now and I’m doing movies. If I do retire, I think it’ll be a retirement match, and then a part-time schedule. It’s so hard for wrestlers to leave the ring. It’s difficult and I’ve given it thought. I have one year left on my contract with TNA and then I will evaluate from there.”
Angle says his knees, lower back, and neck are “always stiff,” but he hasn’t felt this good in a decade.
“I think this is probably the best I’ve felt, and it has a lot to do with the reduced work schedule in TNA where they’re not using me at every house show,” Angle said. “So having that lighter schedule has allowed my body to recuperate more.”
Angle needs to scale back the physicality of his in-ring style if he wants to continue wrestling, but he doesn’t know if he’s capable of that.
“Many people have told me, including Vince McMahon himself, that my work style is too intense; too aggressive. I don’t know if I can ‘work smarter,’ if you want to put it that way,” he said. “I learned from wrestlers like Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit, who were under-sized, to make up for that by working with much more intensity.”
Angle also talked about his movie career, which stars in TNA he thinks have what it takes to carry the company into the future and more.

It was noted earlier this week (and months ago by me) by longtime friend Kevin Nash that Hall had checked into a rehabilitation center on behalf of WWE’s Talent Wellness Program. He was scratched from an independent wrestling show tour of the East Coast, including a heavily promoted event in New York City.
Hall’s publicist said last week: "Recovery for Scott has been very slow process; he was trying to get better and was looking forward to his appearances on the East Coast."
Rumors that Hall had been in the hospital recently with double pneumonia, affecting both of his lungs are complete BS. He’s been in several rehabs.

Sheamus out to the ring, strap over his shoulder. Video of Orton in the ring last week. Sheamus out, but Orton took him apart. Orton was counted out, beat Sheamus with a chair, then ran back to nail Sheamus with an RKO. Orton was all pumped up. In the Sheamus looked pensive. Sheamus said one thing about Americans is that their children are spoiled brats. They'll cry and cry until they get what they want. Look at all these spoiled runts around here. Out to ringside. Sheamus ripped apart two little girls, calling them boys. Then to another little boy, ripped him apart before going back into the ring. He says there's another bigger spoiled child, bigger than these kids, Orton. He didn't win at SummerSlam, he came out and attacked him. We all love the attack and chanted RKO. The "RKO" chants. He's going to burst our bubble now. Despite what Orton did, he's not the WWE Champion, he is! Huge heat for Sheamus. He and the GM haven't been on the same page of late, but a very prestigious PPV is coming up, The Night of Champions. He urges the GM to not give into Orton for what he did. He should be punished, locked up! Put in prison! He should never get another opportunity for his Title, not now, not ever.
Ding-Ding! Of course Cole is getting heat for reading this. "Sheamus, believe it or not, I have no problem with you. You've found a way to retain the WWE Championship and I feel you should be rewarded. Therefore tonight I'm going to do something unprecedented. Gentlemen, would you please bring out the throne?" Cole leans back and waits for the throne to come out. "Sheamus, I'm not going to decide your next challenger, you are. You will watch a series of matches. Watch them, observe them and see who impresses you the most. At the end of the evening you will come to the ring an announce your opponent for The Night of Champions."
Sheamus was thrilled by this and feels a little vindicated. Sheamus thanked the GM, he's really going to enjoy himself tonight. Cole says these matches begin right now.
Edge out to the ring first, through a cloud of smoke. Edge stares at Sheamus as he heads for the ring and Sheamus heads for his throne.

R-Truth out to the ring to face Edge. Into the ring R-Truth really gets the fans into it.
Edge Vs. R-Truth
They lock up. Edge kicks at R-Truth and then punches. R-Truth comes back with head scissors, then clotheslines Edge from the ring. R-Truth over the top, but Edge moves out of the way. Edge over, pulls R-Truth to his feet, then back first into the barrier. Edge sends R-Truth into the ring and follows with a boot to the ribs. Edge with forearms, then stomps to R-Truth. R-Truth choked on a bottom rope, then Edge nails a cross body to R-Truth's back as he's still on the rope! Edge only gets two.
Edge gets R-Truth's arms wrenched back, knee into his spine. Cole thinks Sheamus will be virtuous picking his opponent. R-Truth tries to fight back, but they both hit cross bodies at the same time! Both down. Both up, but R-Truth in control with clotheslines. He gets the fans behind him, but then into a reversed whip, but floats over. Big hip toss, but he show boated too much and Edge took him down.
Edge sets R-Truth up for the spear. Cole says something about it being 17 years of Edge doing this. R-Truth jumps over, but then is able to reverse out of R-Truth's scissor kick and hit his spear for three.
Winner - Edge
Video of the end of the match. Edge grabs a mic and tells Sheamus he can sit up there on his stupid throne and gloat about those he's beaten a 9 time Champion, the man who led RAW to victory at SummerSlam, until he's beaten the Rated R Superstar. Edge up to Sheamus' face. Edge tells him he hasn't beaten anybody. Sheamus didn't looked impressed.

Khali out to the ring, his brother Singh in tow. Singh was bouncing all over the place, like a little Chihuahua to a great dane. Jericho out to face him.
Great Khali Vs. Chris Jericho

Chop to Jericho's head. Khali tries to drop a leg, but Jericho moves. Jericho goes to work on Khali's knee. Much stomping and kicking, then Jericho down wrenching Khali's knee. Jericho then kicks at the knee some more, then sets it on the rope to land on. Jericho tries to set up the walls, but Khali grabs him for the vice grip. Jericho wiggles out of the ring. Back in and onto the knee. Jericho tries for a code breaker but was pushed off. Jericho pushed off a couple times, then scooped and slammed. Khali tries to kick Jericho in a corner, but Khali caught up top. Jericho back onto the knee. Jericho locks on the walls of Jericho. Khali taps out.
Winner - Jericho
Jericho stares up at Sheamus on the stage. Jericho calls for a mic and climbs up on a corner. Jericho asked if Sheamus saw that. He hopes he doesn't listen to Edge. Edge isn't the first Undisputed Champion, Jericho is. Edge isn't' the man who just made a giant tap out. More importantly Edge isn't the best in the world, Jericho is. So it's axiomatic that Sheamus picks Jericho to face for the Title. Does Sheamus understand what Jericho's saying right now? Khali on his feet and chops Jericho off the corner.
Video of Tarver beating Bryan last week because of Miz and Alex Riley. Alex and Miz beat the heck out of Bryan after. Bryan then ate a SCF onto the case at ringside.
Backstage Josh is with Cena. He asks about what happened with Miz last week. Cena says it was petty and classless, plain and simple. He doesn't regret picking Bryan over the Miz at SummerSlam. Anyone who saw Bryan knows he was fantastic. It was Miz who almost cost them the match. He showed his true colors by showing his ego. Then he showed them again last week in attacking Bryan for no reason. Since Miz won his MITB, he has a bigger mouth and attitude problem. Tonight he shuts it with an AA.

Winner - Melina
Video of Jillian's head hitting the mat from a variety of angles. Melina poses with her strap until Lay-Cool on the tron. They call to her, then talk about how they messed with her at SummerSlam. They said they did it for a reason. They'll be at the 900th RAW. Not only will they be there, they have an offer Melina simply can't refuse. It's flawless. Of course they don't say what the offer is.
Backstage Josh is with Miz in a locker room. Does he have a response to Cena? Miz says he nailed Bryan in the back of the head, but what about Cena? He put Team WWE at risk when he chose Bryan over him. Cena wants to talk about egos. What about Miz's ego? After SummerSlam match, Sheamus was beaten down, had to be carried out. Did he cash in and walk out of SummerSlam Champion? No he was thinking of Team WWE. The least Cena could have done was talk to him backstage, but no, he had to embarrass him in front of the entire world. He hates being embarrassed. Doesn't sit well with him. He'll beat down Cena. His actions will be consequences. He doesn't expect Sheamus will pick him, but he can pick Sheamus anytime he wants. Who knows, he may pick him tonight.

After the match Jimmy is heading for Santino outside, but Tamina stops him, pushes him back a bit. She tells him it's over. Then she helps Santino up, hand son his face. She backs away, eyes only for Santino as Jimmy yells at her. She stops, gives Santino a scorching look (damn, that's one beautiful woman when she's not being scary), then kisses her hand, folds it up and blowguns it to Santino. It hits him HARD in the face. He holds his hand to his cheek. Kozlov tries to move Santino's hand in a silly way. Santino says that he thinks she likes him.

Ted DiBiase Jr. out to the ring, Maryse on his arm in a yellow and black dress (much prettier than it actually sounds). Morrison out to the ring. Orton out on the stage. Sheamus to his feet. They stare and glare, then Orton starts toward the ring, but one eye over his shoulder. Video of Sheamus out to the ring last week, but then Orton got the upper hand in a big way. Orton into the ring and stares out at Sheamus.

Ted DiBiase Jr. Vs. John Morrison Vs. Randy Orton
The bell is rung and they all stare around. Sheamus to his feet, heading somewhere. Maryse pulls Morrison's foot form outside distracting him enough for Ted to go on the attack. Ted works over Morrison, then sends him outside. Sheamus heads backstage. Ted after Orton, but then taken apart with an uppercut. Morrison grabs Ted's foot and pulls him out. Morrison steps up on the apron, then kicks Ted in the back of the head. Morrison in and locks up with Orton. Side headlock on Morrison. Orton pushed off but shoulder blocks Morrison for two. Video of Morrison's kick outside. Side headlock on Morrison and he eats another Orton shoulder block, but then dropkicks Orton. Ted in and throws Morrison out by his hair. Ted kicks Orton in the face and pins for two. Ted stomps Orton in a corner, then chokes him with a foot. More stomping on Orton, then Ted showboats. They exchange blows, but Ted comes back with a big clothesline on Orton. Morrison in and eats a neck breaker from Ted for two. More punches on Morrison from Ted. Morrison jacks Ted jaw and Orton nails Ted with two clotheslines and then that uber fast scoop slam from Orton on Morrison. Another scoop slam for Ted.
Orton grabs Ted through the ropes and set up for his DDT. Morrison slingshots at Orton with a kick, but Orton ducks Morrison and then hits his DDT or Ted. Morrison rolled out and Orton pounds the mat, ready for Ted. Ted pushes Orton off, free of the RKO and Morrison kicks Orton as he flies in Morrison's direction. Morrison flails at Ted and ends up outside. Ted grabs Orton for dream street but counted out. Morrison up and flies, but Orton hits his RKO on Morrison as he flies at him.
Winner - Orton
Ted into the ring behind Orton, but then Ted eats an RKO. Orton stares around at the carnage, then up on a corner to pose. Video of Morrison flying and then eating that RKO (yes, it was almost as beautiful as the first time Orton did that with Evan Bourne). Orton up on the stage and smirks back at the ring, the fans.
Backstage Josh asks Sheamus about leaving during Orton's match. Sheamus cuts him off and says he made his decision and doesn't need to see anymore of Orton. In just a few minutes he'll announce it to the entire world from that ring.
- Commercial
Sheamus in the ring. He says he's been t'inking about it for a while now and despite what happened last week, he's still a warrior. The Celtic Warrior. He has a huge announcement tonight. He's not going to wait for The Night of Champions defend his Title, he's going to defend it right now. So get him a ref, please. Ref gets into the ring. Sheamus says he saw a lot of great competitors tonight, a lot of Superstars who are worthy of a championship match. But the only reason he became the WWE was because of opportunity. You can't succeed without opportunity. So despite what he's seen tonight he's decide to go into left field. A Superstar who’s never had a WWE Championship match before. A man who's never had an opportunity. A man who could be the next WWE Superstar. So his next opponent is… Zack Ryder! Zack comes out on stage and says he appreciates the offer, but he made the biggest mistake of his life. Everyone knows they're looking at the next WWE Champion. Woo, woo, woo, you know it! Ryder walks down to the ring with his cocky Swagger. King asked Cole if Ryder deserves this. Cole says he deserves it "more than this guy does!" Zack Ryder into the ring. There's 58 pounds between these two guys! The fans are not impressed.
WWE Championship Match - Sheamus © Vs. Zack Ryder
The bell rings and Sheamus charges Zack with a big boot. Sheamus pins for three.
Winner - Sheamus
Sheamus shows off his strap and celebrates as if it was a huge win. He grabs a mic and says there we have it, another successful championship retention for the Celtic Warrior. He knows how impressed we are and all that. But now he'd like to take the time to reference some WWE Rules and Regulations. See, he doesn't have to defend his Title for another t'irty days. That means, at The Night of Champions, this Champion is taking the night off. He might just take the whole month off. He might go back to Ireland, visit the family, take the car around, enjoy himself.
Wade Barrett comes out with a big grin on his face. Sheamus looks cranky. Wade, but in Sheamus' face say legally speaking he doesn't have to defend his Title for another thirty days, but the fact is that he's the winner of Season 1 of NXT. Sheamus asks, so wha'? Wade says so that means he gets a Title opportunity at the PPV of his choice. He's choosing to take it against him at The Night of Champions. Sheamus yells, off mic, that Wade can't do that. Wade says Sheamus' next Title defense is against him.
Ding-Ding! Cole gets even more heat. The GM of RAW has upheld Wade Barrett's request. "Sheamus will defend against Barrett at The Night of Champions, but that's not all. Earlier tonight Sheamus, you spoke of opportunity. I'm giving an opportunity to not only Wade Barrett, but to four other deserving Superstars. That means at The Night of Champions, Sheamus will defend the WWE Championship in a Six Pack Challenge." Sheamus starts screaming at this.
"Sheamus will not only face Wade Barrett, he will face Chris Jericho…" Jericho's music and he comes out with a smirk on his face. He stomps down to the ring, watching Sheamus and Wade the whole time.
"Randy Orton!" Orton comes out to the ring and Sheamus looks sullen as Orton smirks the whole way down. Sheamus doesn't take his eyes of Orton, at all.
"Edge!" Edge comes out to the ring, staring the whole way, Sheamus really looking nervous.
"John Cena!" The fans loves this. Cena comes out and Sheamus rubs his hand over his face. They all stare at Sheamus. Sheamus pushes Wade at the rest. Wade isn't impressed, but then they all circle him and he realizes what's going on. Cena starts, but they all beat Wade down. Sheamus then tosses Wade from the ring. Sheamus turns around from throwing Wade out, right into a code breaker from Jericho. Sheamus rolls from the ring. Edge spears Jericho. Cena gets Edge up for an AA and hits it. Orton hits an RKO on Cena to leave him the only man standing. Orton poses in a corner and the fans love him.

In addition to Homicide, it would appear that both Tomko and Rosie Lottalove have parted ways with TNA Wrestling as their respective profiles were removed from the company website's roster page Thursday. All three were sparingly used in recent months.
In Homicide's case, he noted on his social networking accounts earlier in the day that he had parted ways with the organization. Meanwhile, Lottalove's photo gallery was removed from the Knockouts media section.
Scott Hall, Sean Waltman, Daniels and ODB were also removed from the page, though their respective TNA departures were noted months ago.
-- It was announced during this week's episode of TNA ReACTION that Samoa Joe would be returning to iMPACT! on next week's show. The program's narrator teased: "Where will Samoa Joe stand when he makes his return to iMPACT! next week?"
The former TNA World Heavyweight Champion was reportedly suspended last month due to breach of etiquette.
Lilian Garcia Talks About Leaving WWE and Divas Being Misused

CLICK HERE to listen to Lilian's appearance on Monday Night Mayhem (MP3)
Interview highlights courtesy of The Mayhem's official correspondent, Paterson from New Jersey:
Why, in the end, she decided to leave World Wrestling Entertainment last September & what/whom she misses the most: "There's nothing like having that one-on-one interaction with them: every time we're out there, being able to hi-five & hug people. It's just an amazing feeling. I miss some of the travel, I'm not crazy about all of the travel. Some of the places we went to were a lot of fun, especially when went overseas. I love Europe, and I love to experience different cultures, so I would definitely take advantage of the sightseeing. What I don't miss is the airports & the hauling of the luggage. That kind of stuff wears on you, and when you do it ten years straight, it does wear on you. That's why I have a lot of respect for all of the Superstars, because I didn't have the grueling schedule that they would had of 300+ days a year, so I have respect for those who can do it and be away from their families. I really missed being away from my family, and that was one of the decision I made. When my contract was up, I was like do I sign on for a new contract, or do I really want to take the time to be with my family & my new husband, and I just made that decision that it was time."
Her transition into the next phase of her life/career & the reason as to why she wanted to take time off: "It's been a year since I left. It almost feels like right around the corner, and I can't believe how time flies. So much has happened since I left. Actually, after I left on the 21st of September, I got married on the 28th of September, which was on a Monday, so it was ironic that I got married on a Monday. I went on a long amazing honeymoon and spent time with the family. I just took time off because I had been on the road for ten years straight. I did some work in Los Angeles, and a lot of doors starting opening up for me in L.A., so we made the decision to move to Los Angeles from New York, and we left in May. It's just a fresh start & a new chapter in my life."
Her expectation level when she started working for the WWE in 1999, how she almost chose to not show up to her WWE audition, why Tony Chimel & Howard Finkel were instrumental in her success, and if she initially thought she would have lasted as long as she did/been as successful as she was in World Wrestling Entertainment: "No, not at all. I'll be honest with you, I had no idea what I was walking into, and I almost didn't do the audition. I was called to New York to audition, and I looked at him and said 'Are you kidding me...wrestling?' He didn't tell me what it was for, because the WWE didn't tell him. I auditioned for a backstage interviewer for Super Astros, which was going to be on Univision, but I didn't get it. It wasn't until six months later that I got another call back, and they remembered me, and they needed people for SmackDown before it premiered. I auditioned again, and they called me, and they wanted to try me on for 1-3 months, and that I could leave at any time, and I was thinking I had nothing to lose...I'll try it out. I went to my first show to find out that I was ring announcing that night, and Tony Chimel was there, and he sat with me and told me what I supposed to say. Between Chimel & Howard Finkel, I can't thank them enough, because they could have easily sabotaged me, but they were so helpful, and I will never forget that."
If she ever felt that the WWE Divas were not utilized properly during her time in the company & why she would like to see the Divas get more time on WWE television: "I always wished the Divas had more time on the show, because a lot of times, they get one match on the show. I see them working so hard, and they live & breathe this business just has much as the guys do. It depends on the writing, and the storylines, and ratings, and all of that. I could say that I wish they had more time, but I'm also partial to them too. I think it's a great job they do week in & week out, and it's not easy to write all these storylines & all these different ideas. I think the WWE does a good job on that, but of course personally, I would love to see more of the Divas going against each other."
The bonds she formed during her time in the WWE, which WWE Diva she classified as her "best friend" (that she was sad to see go after her departure), & her reaction to the passings of Eddie Guerrero & Chris Benoit: "I guess every situation in different for everybody. I never felt outside the loop, or because I didn't take bumps, I didn't have anyone to comfort. I had a great camaraderie with all the superstars and especially all the divas. We had an amazing locker room throughout the years, and I saw a lot of people go in & out, which is sad, because I would form these really big bonds with a lot of them. Trish Stratus would be an example of one; we would travel together, and we were best friends, and when she left, I think I cried more than she did. I always felt like I had someone there, and I remember when we got the news about Eddie Guerrero & Chris Benoit, it was sad, and it was like a family atmosphere, and I remember hugging everybody. I had a great relationship with everyone."
More is contained in this exclusive interview with the WWE's first & only "Decade Diva," including her candid thoughts/comments on returning to the company for one night only this past April, the criticisms given to Justin Roberts & the newer ring announcers since her departure, her relationship with Dawyne "The Rock" Johnson/the memorable "People's Strudel" backstage vignettes, singing "America the Beautiful" on SmackDown after the 9/11 attacks, her top moments/matches from her time in the WWE, an update on her forthcoming musical projects (including when fans can expect to see the release of her new album), & how she plans on celebrating her birthday this Thursday. For all of the details on how you can meet Lilian Garcia this weekend in "The Windy City" for the Chicago Comic Con, be sure to log on to her official website (located at www.LilianGarcia.com), and be sure to follow Lilian on her official Twitter page.
Former WWE superstar and concussion awareness champion Chris Nowinski recently spoke to New England’s NECN news show about the WWE work environment.
Nowinski, who is a Harvard graduate and wrestled for WWE from 2002-2004 before having to retire after a head injury, paints an ugly picture of WWE encouraging steroid use, widespread use of pain pills and more.
Steroid Use In WWE: “The WWE rewards the guys who use them.”
The Unsafe Work Environment: “They have an environment where it’s absolutely unsafe to work in that ring. They have no oversight into what actually happens in the ring. And they are encouraging steroid use,” he said, citing the enormous physiques of recent champions such as Triple H and Batista. “It’s garbage that they’re not using stuff,” he said. “They absolutely know what’s going on.”
Painkiller Use In WWE: “They’re taking pain killers because they’re working 200 nights a year and getting hit unlike anyone in the history of the wrestling business — it wasn’t like that in the ’80s, it wasn’t like that in the ’70s” he said. “I used to go through tables for four days a week.”
Linda McMahon Saying She “Might Have Met”Lance Cade: “That’s complete garbage. Just kicking dirt on the guy’s grave.”

This first post SummerSlam RAW starts with music and pyro.
King and Cole mention there will be a lot of fallout tonight after SummerSlam.
Nexus stomps their way out to the ring. Wade says that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Team WWE narrowly escaped with victory last night, but Nexus defeated 6 of RAW's Superstars. As we can see, rumors of their demise have been greatly exaggerated. They're still there, still united and still ready to dominate the WWE. Everybody was so concerned if Nexus was victorious at SummerSlam, they didn't worry about what would happed if they tasted defeat. Well, they tasted defeat and there will be consequences to be faced. Those consequences are severe for the Superstars of RAW. There will be more suffering, more destruction and chaos. More destruction and misery for anybody who gets in their way. Last night was a temporary aberration. Mark his words…
Cena's music cuts him off. Cena, on stage in his (yet again) new colors, t-shirt, hat and bands. He says he's impressed. Because Wade talks such a big game. He has to, he's the fearless leader of Nexus. He has the resolve of Winston Churchill. As tough as Snookie for the Jersey Shore. Wade, he only says that because he tapped out. "You tapped out" chants. Apparently all these people saw SummerSlam too. He tapped out and cost Nexus the win. They're out there saying the loss will make them tougher and stronger. It's a lie. Right now he's thinking to hell with Stallone, Willis and Austin, the Nexus are the expendables. After that surprise last night he's kicking himself right in the fish and chips, why the hell did he get rid of Daniel Bryan? When Bryan joined Team WWE at SummerSlam, he eliminated half of Nexus by himself. For weeks Nexus has been viewed as an indestructible group. But now they're human and can be beat. Now they're going to be looking at them as a individuals, not a group.
Let's start with David Otunga. David happens to be nothing other than a bellow average escort who clings to someone's arm on the red carpet. The fans love this, Otunga doesn't. Tarver, looks like some sort of MMA bank robber who works nights as a male stripper. Fans love this. Those trunks get any smaller we're going to have to change the rating of this show! Is that Heath Slater, or the chick from Wendy's? Then Slater is morphed into Wendy in a little picture on the screen. Heath was pissed, Cena laughed. He's letting us be the judge on that one. "Wendy's" chants. This must be Monday night RAW, we just got a Wendy's chant (even thought Burger King and WWE are going into a promotion together!). Cena then moves on to Darren Young. This one hit's a little close to the chest. The very existence of Darren proves my mother true of all these years. I thought she was just lying, but she actually did have a lusty affair with Buckwheat. Then there's Justin Gabriel. He doesn't know much about him except he has an alternative way of thinking. Cena shrugs. For those who don't get it, he'll be at the late show to explain. Cena quickly moves on to Skip and says he doesn't look like he gets it. Wait, don't say a word. Cena took a mind reading class in college and can read Skip's thoughts. Right now he's thinking, "Meow meow, meow meow, meow meow, heater jumbo tugboat, pbbbttttt."
Cena said to Wade that it's like he said, the fear they have instilled in the locker room is gone. Their psychological edge that they were an indestructible force working for a higher power, see ya, bye. They lost last night and Staple Center SummerSlam will forever be the place that Nexus was history! Darren grabbed a mic and told Cena that he doesn't know what he's talking about. Cena says no! No, no, no, byproduct of a gallon of brandy and his mother's secret celebrity crush, he doesn't know what he's talking about because he tapped out too. As a matter of fact he gave up in under a minute. Want to cut to the chase? His name shouldn't be Darren Young, his name should be The Weakest Link! Darren glared. Wade calmed Nexus down as they all argued between them.
Ding-Ding! Of course Cole calls for attention and gets serious heat. "Nexus may claim they're stronger than ever, but those words are going to the put to a test. We're going to continue SummerSlam tonight. Each member of Nexus will compete against members of Team WWE in a series of matches this evening. Outside interference by members of Nexus will be met with serious and appropriate consequences." Wade says that's not a form of punishment. After last night it's an opportunity for redemption. A chance for us to examine Nexus. "You tapped out!" chants fill the arena. Cena says Wade needs a whole lot of redemption because everyone knows he tapped out. Wade thanked Cena for that interjection. It's a chance for us to examine Nexus and see if there's any weak links. If there are any weak links, they'll be weeded out. If anyone in Nexus is not victorious tonight, they'll be exiled from the group. One way or another, Nexus will be stronger than ever. "What?" Otunga grabs a mic and said, shoot, that's fine by them, but just knows it also applies to him. If Wade loses, any one of them would be happy to take over.
Ding-Ding! Cena says Regis Philbin with the emails Cole, what is it now? Cole asks for attention. "One last thing Nexus, they can choose which member faces each member of Team WWE, except Wade Barrett. Mr. Barrett will compete next against his former NXT mentor, Chris Jericho.

Wade is waiting in the ring. Jericho comes out to the ring. Jericho glares at Wade, then looks at him with an interested look on his face.
Wade Barrett Vs. Chris Jericho
"Y2J" chants. Jericho rushes Wade and attacks. Punches him down in a corner, then a high elbow drops Wade. More punches, then a suplex to Wade. Nexus is watching on a monitor backstage. Dropkick to Wade who rolls to the apron. Springboard dropkick to Wade, dropping him to the floor. A boot to Wade's head and Jericho rolls him back in. Jericho climbs but Wade attacks and knocks him outside. Jericho slammed back first into the apron. Punches, then a kick to Jericho's ribs. Jericho rolled in, Wade in and still on Jericho with an arm hold. Jericho whipped and hit’s the mat. Punches to Jericho in a corner. Jericho fights back with a chop, then a punch, but Wade fights back and gets the upper hand. Wade chokes Jericho on a second rope with a leg over him. Jericho sitting on the mat, Wade's knee in his back, arms pulled taught.
Jericho whipped but gets a foot up, then Jericho flies at Wade with a dropkick. Jericho fighting back with punches. Bulldog to Wade. Jericho sets up the walls, Wade counters. Back and forth counters until Jericho locks on the walls, but Wade's long reach gets him to the bottom rope. Big boot and Wade gets two on Jericho. Jericho kicks Wade in the back of the head. Wade reverses the code breaker. Wade gets Jericho up and slams him down for three.

Justin in the ring announcing the Guest Hosts - Justin Sudeikis, Charlie Day and Justin Long. They come down to the ring, two getting in the ring the chick way, the third struggling through. Then they couldn't figure out which side the cameras were on! They were all excited and goofy in a frat boy way. Justin asked what they were thinking? They all gave props to the Staples Center and the NBA champions and next years champs, the Miami Heat. He thinks they're cheering for him. One guy said their Celtics fans. Then Long talks about the Lakers. Long then said they're a Dynasty, just like the next World Tag Team Champs (someone hasn't schooled him in what to say). Then he announces the Hart Dynasty. Natalya lead the boys out, she held the straps. Into the ring, they shake hands and hug the clueless actors.
Ding-Ding! Cole gets more heat. As Cole steps up King teases him about his glasses. "From this moment forward, the Unified Tag Team Titles will be known as the WWE Tag Team Championships. Here to present the new titles, WWE HOF'er, Bret 'The Hitman' Hart. He comes out with two sexy new belts that look different from anything I've ever seen! They're very coppery and huge! Lots of hugs around the family, then arms held high. Bret shows off his Hart Dynasty t-shirt.
Wade and Nexus on the tron. He says Nexus has chosen his opponent for the evening - Justin Gabriel. Gabriel says he might have experienced a lot in his career, but he'll experience one more, his 450 splash. Bret just looks up at the tron, but says nothing.

Tarver out to the ring. He's picked Daniel Bryan. Bryan out to the ring. Cole said Bryan replacing Miz is like Cena bringing his girlfriend flowers but replacing it with stinkweed. Can see this is going to go on through the whole match!
Michael Tarver Vs. Daniel Bryan
They lock up, Bryan backed into a corner while the fans chant for him. Tarver nails him with punches. Bryan gets a foot up. More punches, then Tarver's backed off by the ref. Tarver runs at Bryan and eats a foot. Then Bryan runs out at Tarver and nails him with a very strange flying kick. Bryan pins for two. Cole says Bryan has heart and guts, he'll give King that. But he's a nerd! You know he's a vegan! Arm bar on Tarver. Bryan nails a sick suplex on Tarver for two. Kicks to Tarver's legs, body and then head into a corner. The ref backs Bryan off. Bryan whipped but never hits the corner. A dropkick to Tarver, then Bryan climbs. Another dropkick to Tarver and Bryan is pumped!
Miz and his Rookie Alex Rider are running down the ramp to the ring. Bryan sees them and is distracted. Tarver grabbed Bryan and rolled him up for three.
Winner - Michael Tarver
Bryan flew out onto Miz and Alex. Bryan works Miz, then Alex. Tarver attacks, gains the upper hand over Bryan. The three of them work together. They hold Bryan as Miz tackles him into the barrier. Miz on Bryan with punches. Alex put down the case and Miz hits his SCF on Bryan onto the case. The whole time Cole says that Miz should be mad, Bryan screwed Miz, this is what Bryan deserves. Alex tells Bryan that Miz's a real star. Miz says Bryan's an NXT wash up. Miz and his clone are all pumped up. Cole is still ripping on Bryan.
- Commercial
Video of Cena's newest movie.
Video of Tarver's win and the attack on Bryan. King isn't happy about Miz's involvement and Cole is still really nasty toward Bryan.
Backstage Miz and Alex are pumped. Josh asks Miz to explain his actions. Miz says the moment Bryan showed on NXT the WWE Universe heckled him, said Bryan was better than him and should have been his Pro. Then last night at SummerSlam every single superstar begged him to be on Team WWE, then they put him on the back burner for Bryan. Everyone thinks he's so special, how special is he now? Want the next Breakout star, look no further. Alex said boring old Bryan never appreciated the Miz. Alex isn't some overrated underdeveloped nerd who's lucky to have a job in this grown man's company. What he is, is the next winner of NXT and he owes it all to his Pro the Miz.
In the locker room Nexus is talking away. Darren said he has something to say. He's decided who he wants to face, John Cena. Otunga thinks his' crazy. Darren says last month Cena brutally attacked him, now he's taking Cena out. Otunga says tonight's about redemption. He knows the consequences and he's still stepping up. They all punch and slap Darren's chest and shoulders.
Justin Gabriel out to the ring.
- Commercial
Gabriel's standing in the ring, then - Ding-Ding! Cole up to the podium. "Justin, they're sorry, Bret Hart will not be competing against you tonight. I don't like Bret Hart, I've never liked Bret Hart. I don't want to see him compete on RAW ever again. I don't care what anyone in the audience or watching at home thinks. I have decided to make this last minute substitution. An your new opponent is on his way to the ring right now."
Orton on his way out to the ring to face Gabriel who stands there shaking his head.
Randy Orton Vs. Justin Gabriel
Gabriel, fists up as Orton up to him staring. Gabriel pushes Orton. Orton locks him up and backs Gabriel into a corner. Gabriel gets free and kicks Orton in the thigh. Gabriel slides under Orton and tries to kick again, but Orton grabs his leg and clotheslines him twice. Orton's fired up. Gabriel rolls to the apron, Orton pulls him up and hits his through the ropes DDT in what Cole calls 'vintage' Orton. Orton pounds the mat, but then turns and rolls out to meet Sheamus. Orton attacks Sheamus, clotheslines Sheamus over the barrier. They fight into the crowd and the ref is counting. Orton still on Sheamus and the bell rings.
Winner - Justin Gabriel

Cena face first off the stairs, but not with a lot of force. Darren paces a bit. Cena falls to the other side of the stairs. Darren dropkicks the stairs into Cena. As reported earlier, Ring of Honor owner Cary Silkin fired head booker Adam Pearce yesterday. He is reportedly being replaced by wrestler Delirious. Pearce issued the following statement concerning his departure from ROH:
Oil and water don’t mix.
Cary Silkin gave me the chance to live a lifelong dream two years ago, and I will forever be grateful to him for having the faith in me to give me that opportunity. I’ve never had a better boss, probably never will, and I’m glad to be able to call him my friend. I’ve certainly never met a more generous person, and I wish him personally nothing but the prosperity that I believe he deserves.
Ring of Honor has always represented to me what the “future” of professional wrestling could be, and it is my sincere hope that through the continued tremendous partnership with HDNet that that “future” may one day be realized.
I have never been more proud to be part of a locker room, and I want to publicly thank each and every member of the ROH roster, contracted and otherwise, for working so hard with me to make this year a huge creative success. You all allowed me to grow into a position that I was unqualified for, stayed with me every step of the way – low and high, and at the end of the day made the stories in my head come to life better than anyone else ever could have. You are the most creative and hardest working locker room in the industry, and you all deserve more than what is available to you now. I’m happy to have spoken to all of you in the last 24 hours or so, and I terribly wish that I was going to be with you all at TV this weekend.
I want to publicly acknowledge and applaud the efforts of David Lagana, who in my opinion deserves more credit and praise for his contributions to the company than he has ever received, and it is my hope that he continues to work with HDNet to produce the television product that he and I have worked so hard on since it began. I give thanks to Adam Swift and Andrew Simon at HDNet for their network support during my tenure, as well as to Scott Ferrier and Andy Edwards - the unknown magicians that make our TV world go ‘round. Thanks to all of our camera and lighting crews and everyone else that brought ROH to the television stage. I will always appreciate the hard work you’ve done and what you’ve all made possible for me.
So many people deserve thanks now that this chapter of my life has come to an end. Guys like Chris Maurer for all of his work on the creative end of things. His written word helped to bring my stories to life, and his hard work in so many of the ‘not-so-glamorous’ areas of the company need to be acknowledged. Bobby Cruise is more important to the ROH production than anyone really knows and I thank him for being my ‘right hand man’. Wayne Fitzgerald and Mary Gage deserve credit for their stalwart efforts, making the music and lights do what we need. Thank you both.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t publicly thank Jimmy Cornette for being the best mentor I could have ever asked for, and an even better friend. If any man could have upstaged me and went over my head to do things his way, it was him, but to his credit he NEVER once did. He stood by me and allowed me to be the boss, for better or worse, and I’ll always remember that. I hope he can be the same for Delirious, who now finds himself in that very scary and exciting spot. I wish them both nothing but the best; I’m sure we’ll cross paths again.
I’ve loved nearly every single second of my time with Ring of Honor, regardless of the capacity. Perhaps one day I’ll be back again. But if not, I am humbled and appreciate all that my time in the company has taught and afforded me.
The wrestling in Ring of Honor always has been (and in my opinion, always will be) second to none, and if/when the end truly does come for the company, the wrestling won’t be the reason why. The way I see it there are two sides to the Ring of Honor coin: The ‘creative/in-ring’ side, and the ‘business’ side.
The ‘water’ and the ‘oil’.
No matter how long and no matter whom does the stirring, they don’t ever seem to truly mix the right way.
Adam Pearce
In an interview with MMA Hour Live, Paul Heyman talked about the possibility of working with TNA Wrestling:
"They're not ready for me. They're not there yet. I kind of have self-justified my own interest in TNA as a network of stock and ownership. I left pro wrestling in December 2006 and I haven't done one shoot DVD, one convention appearance, one cameo. I haven't done anything on wrestling."
Heyman confirmed that TNA has reached out to him many times in the last year but he didn't take it seriously until Dixie Carter contacted him and offered him potential ownership points and stock, as well as potential side projects with Spike TV. He concluded though that they weren't ready for his ideas, particularly using things from MMA to influence wrestling. He also said that TNA is not looking long term and only wants short term solutions and that they don't have their own vision for what they want to be.
Heyman added that he would get rid of everyone over 40 in TNA if he was in charge, saying their place is to be used for promotional events, autograph signings, and video games, but not as the core, noting that TNA's focus seems to be on former ECW guys in their 40s, Hulk Hogan, and Ric Flair.
"If you were over 40, I'd chop your f***ing head off. I want a guy who is entering the prime of his career and shape him and mold him."
"Imagine if all they did the entire show was promote the Beer Money vs. Motor City Machineguns match and had Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and the ECW guys saying they needed to see that match and said these guys are the future now. Then, if you put that match in the main event - as opposed to the middle of the card with no follow-up - and produce and present them as the main event. Then, if 'you buy this product, this is the progressive type of presentation we are going to present to you.' Instead, you have Hulk Hogan in his 50s thanking ECW guys in their 40s before the ECW guys are beat up by a group led by Ric Flair in his 60s."
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with his thoughts on last night's SummerSlam pay-per-view. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:
Daniel Bryan's Return: "The return of Daniel Bryan was both a shocker and a very pleasant development on the PPV. The much traveled and highly skilled veteran made an impact on his few weeks of TV time prior to his release from the company. The MMA aficionado showed definitive signs of brilliance during his in ring time at Summer Slam. A very strategic maneuver by WWE to bring Bryan back into the fold and I'm anxious to see how Bryan evolves."
The Undertaker's Return: "The return of the Undertaker was a boost to the PPV. The Undertaker is one of the few, long term, incumbent stars WWE has on its roster and whenever the 'Deadman' is on a show it is a plus in my eyes as it relates to legit, 'star power.'"
Bret Hart's In-Ring Work: "Bret Hart kicking it up a notch was an eye opener. I don't ever expect to see Bret on the road much or even back in the ring as a wrestler that often but what I saw in Los Angeles Sunday night really surprised me and in a very favorable way. Bret's physicality and spring in his step was surprisingly good and I really enjoyed his time in the ring."
Nexus: "Nexus is still extremely relevant in my eyes contrary to what some fans have said in emails to this site. Too many people are taking for granted the fact that these 7 are essentially rookies in WWE, have miles to travel before they sleep....as main event stars, and were placed into an extraordinary position being thrust into the main event at Summer Slam. I did think that Nexus would pull it out and upset Team WWE going into the show. I was wrong. But I do think that this faction has healthy 'legs' and can do just fine going forward. It's easy for any of us to be a Monday morning quarterback but I like what Nexus has represented thus far and their upside. Nexus is in a marathon and not a sprint as the process to achieve resident, main event status still remains a multi year procedure."

Barrett grabs a mic and says that's just a taste of what they have in store for Team WWE later tonight, and it doesn't matter if they're able to find a 7th member, because the roster is so fragmented, they won't be able to for a cohesive unit capable of fighting the Nexus. He says the Nexus are the most destructive force in the history of the WWE, and it's because they're united behind a common purpose, and he wants to let everyone know that you're either Nexus, or you're against us.
Winner - No Contest
Chris Jericho is backstage with the Miz. He says it pains him to say it, but they need Miz on their team, because of his unique talents. Edge is also there, he says Miz is the MITB winner, and he can appreciate that, but tonight is not about cashing in, it's about seizing the opportunity. Jericho says if they accept their offer, it could be the biggest blockbuster announcement. Winner and NEW WWE Diva's Champion: Melina
Josh Matthews is in the ring with Melina, who looks to be in tears. Matthews starts to ask a question, but LayCool is out to interrupt. McCool says Melina must be so proud of herself, and she also says Melina looks good, Not. Layla says they've knocked off every Smackdown diva, so tonight they wanted to come out and share in her special moment. LayCool make their way into the ring, and McCool says people will want to capture this moment because there are three champions in the ring. McCool says they have to Twitter this, but when they try to take a picture, Layla pushes them both away. The SES is outside of the ring as the Big Show gets in. Show gets the trainer to hop up on the ring apron and snip off the bandages from his hand. Show flexes his hand to show the SES how he's doing. Punk lets Gallows and Mercury gets in the ring first, and Mercury charges Big Show, but gets swatted away. Gallows tries and the same happens. Punk regroups his troops, and apparently this match requires tags, but that isn't enforced. Gallows and Mercury try a double team attack, but Show fights them right off. Punk is staying in the corner grabbing the tag rope. Show picks up Mercury and tosses him over the top rope and out to the floor on top of Gallows.
Mid-match notes:
Punk tries his luck with the Big Show, and he catches a right hand and a big chop across the chest for his troubles. Punk rolls to the outside and Show follows him. Punk catches Show with a throat chop and tries to stomp on Show's hand, but Show avoids it. Show tries to chop Punk again, but Show connects with the ring steps. The SES uses the opportunity to swarm Show, just laying into him and punching and stomping away before sending him back into the ring.

The finish:
Show pins Gallows and Mercury and gets the three count.
Winner: Big Show
Kane is shown backstage with a casket while melodramatic music plays. He says tonight he'll shut Mysterio in the casket and end his existence. The camera pans over to Sheamus. Kane asks what he wants. Sheamus says the casket is far to large for Rey Mysterio, but it's big enough for who he's facing, because tonight just like St. Patrick driving snakes out of Ireland, he'll be driving the Viper out of the WWE. Kane says no. Sheamus says that's too bad, because if they were on the same page they'd be unstoppable. Sheamus says he'll take Kane's nickname instead, because he's the real 'Big Red Monster'. Kane laughs and says Sheamus has guts, which will be spilled on the floor if he ever interrupts him again. Kane stares off into the distance to end the segment.
WWE Championship Match
- Sheamus (c) vs. Randy Orton
Michael Cole begins to recap the events leading up to this match and the Miz's music hits and he makes his way down to the ring with a mic in hand. Miz says the question is whether or not he should join Team WWE. He asks the crowd, and gets a bit of a mixed reaction. Miz says he could care less, because the opinion in the locker room is that he's the missing link in the chain that'll lead Team WWE to victory. Last week both Bret Hart and John Cena asked him to be on their team, and today John Cena came up to him and got down on his knees and begged him to be a part of Team WWE. He said that Cena said Miz is the only person that can see him. Bret Hart said he's the real excellence of execution. Chris Jericho gave him a Fozzy CD, which he threw in the trash. John Morrison finally admitted to being the Marty Janetty of their tag team. Edge gave him Slim Jims, and R-Truth wrote him a crappy rap. Everyone admitted they needed him except the WWE Universe. He says the fans need to realize that he's the only hope. He's the future. He's the US Champion, and a future WWE Champion. Miz says he needs to get to the decision, and it's bigger than LeBron James' spectacle on ESPN which will ultimately lead to the Laker's losing the NBA Championship. Will he join Team WWE? The answer is...'Yes'. He will join Team WWE, and he will lead them to victory. The WWE Universe won't be buzzing about the Nexus, or looking up to John Cena, they'll be admitting to what Miz has been saying all along, that he's the Miz, and he's, no, no, no. He tells the fans they can't say his catchphrase, they have to wait their turns, raise their hands and wait to be called upon. He asks for complete silence. He does the whole, I'm awesome thing again, and his music hits.
We get the video package that we were promised a few minutes ago, as the hype machine for Orton/Sheamus begins. Sheamus' music hits, and the champion is the first man to make his way to the ring, to a bit of an apathetic reaction.

Sheamus tries to fight back, but Orton takes him right back down to the mat with a big clothesline. Orton stomps away at Sheamus. Sheamus gets back up and tries to fight again, but he eats another clothesline, and another this time to the outside. Orton follows to the outside and he slams Sheamus' head into the announce table before clotheslining Sheamus into the crowd over the barricade.
Mid-match notes:
Orton beats on Sheamus for a bit, and they make their way back into the ring before the 10 count. Orton goes right back to work on Sheamus, kicking at his joints and hitting a big knee drop to Sheamus' head. Sheamus tries to crawl to the outside, but Orton catches him with even more stomps before grabbing his legs, and slingshotting him straight into the bottom rope. Sheamus rolls to the outside, and when Orton follows, Sheamus is able to slam him into the barricade. When Sheamus tries to toss Orton into the barricade however, Orton reverses and sends Sheamus shoulder first into the barricade.
Orton breaks the count, and he tries to send Sheamus shoulder first into the ring steps, but Sheamus is able to reverse the Irish whip and turn it around on Orton. Orton rolls back into the ring where Sheamus meets him with a vicious series of stomps before pounding his head. Sheamus goes for a pin, but he's only able to get a two count. Sheamus brings Orton up to his feet where he hits a short arm clothesline. Sheamus hits a knee drop and goes for another cover and gets another near fall. Sheamus locks in a rear chin lock, but Orton is quick to fight back up to his feet. Sheamus goes for a suplex but Orton blocks and reverses it.
Sheamus rolls out to the apron, but when he comes in, Orton gets him in position for his rope assisted DDT. Sheamus is able to get out of it though, and toss Orton over the top rope to the outside. Sheamus follows and he stomps away at Orton before picking him up and slamming him back first into the barricade. Sheamus picks him right back up and slams him again. Sheamus rolls Orton into the ring and goes right for the pin but only gets two.
Sheamus lets Orton get back to his feet and he hits a big running forearm to Orton's head. He goes for another pin and gets another two count. Sheamus locks in a modified rear chin lock, with what looks to be an arm bar, and he takes Orton down to the mat. Orton is able to fight his way back up to his feet where he fights out of the submission, only to eat a drop toe hold into the middle turnbuckle. Sheamus gets Orton in position for a reverse DDT and he brings Orton down over his knee. Sheamus goes for two covers, but gets two two counts. Sheamus connects with the Irish Hammer to put Orton down.
Sheamus goes back to work with another rear chin lock, but Orton is able to fight up to his feet. Orton connects with a back body drop to break things up and both men are down.
Sheamus tries to charge Orton in the corner, but Orton avoids it and connects with his signature backbreaker. Orton goes for the cover but he only gets a two count. Orton goes for the pin, but he only gets a two count. Both men are back up and Sheamus connects with a urunage backbreaker that's good for a two count. Sheamus goes for the bicycle kick, but Orton ducks it and Sheamus gets hung up in the ropes and falls to the outside.
Sheamus gets back to the ring apron and Orton springs into action with the rope assisted DDT. Orton goes for the RKO, but it looks like Sheamus pushes him off to avoid most of the impact. Sheamus gets to his feet and he goes for the Irish curse, but Orton fights out of it. An attempted RKO is fought off, and Sheamus is able to hit the bicycle kick, but Orton kicks out at two. Sheamus throws a tantrum.
The finish:
Sheamus goes to the outside where he grabs a chair. He rolls into the ring with chair in hand, but the referee is quick to grab it. Sheamus and the ref fight over the chair, and Sheamus ends up pushing the ref to the outside. The ref calls for the bell.
Winner by DQ: Randy Orton
When Orton gets back to his feet, Sheamus tries to hit him with the chair, but Orton ducks it and responds with a low blow. Orton looks down at the chair and picks it up, to the approval of the crowd. Orton decides against it though, and he pulls Sheamus to the outside instead. Orton tears apart the announce table, slamming Sheamus head first into the table. Orton climbs on the table with Sheamus and once the Irishman gets to his feet, Orton smiles and hits an RKO, but the table doesn't break. Orton looks pissed, as Sheamus rolls off the table.
World Heavyweight Championship Match
- Kane (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
Mysterio's music hits, and he makes his way out to the ring to a large pop from this Los Angeles crowd.
We get a recap of the events leading up to this match, surprise, it's in video package form. Kane is out next, and the champion makes his way to the ring pushing a casket. Kane opens up the lid of the casket to show that it's empty, like some sort of magic trick, before closing it again.
The start:
The bell rings and Kane tries to attack Mysterio, but Mysterio kicks Kane in the leg. Kane responds by pounding on Mysterio in the corner, but he misses a splash. Kane is able to connect with a slam, but he misses a leg drop and Mysterio tries to mount an offensive. Kane puts him right back down with a couple of right hands, but Mysterio ducks through Kane's leg and hits a low dropkick. Mysterio goes for a 619, but Kane avoids it and tosses Mysterio to the outside. Mysterio lands on his feet and baits Kane to the outside. Mysterio rolls to the ring, and then hits a dropkick and a senton taking Kane down to the arena floor. Back in the ring, Mysterio goes for the top and Kane grabs him around the throat, but Mysterio rakes his arm over the top rope. Kane catches Mysterio and swats him down to the mat before throwing him down and into the ring post before following up with a low dropkick.
Mid-match notes:
Mysterio rolls to the outside and Kane follows, slamming him twice into the ring post before sending him back into the ring. Kane suplexes Mysterio into the top rope and he hits a big boot that sends him to the outside. Kane quickly rolls Rey into the ring and goes for the cover but he only gets a two count. Kane sends Mysterio into the corner hard, and Mysterio goes down. Kane goes for the cover, but again only gets two. Kane picks Mysterio up into a bear hug and works over Mysterio's ribs.
Mysterio fights out of the submission with a couple of strikes to Kane's head, but he jumps right back into another bear hug. Rey elbows Kane in the head, and he's able to get into sunset flip position, but Kane doesn't budge. He picks Mysterio up and eats a dropkick. Mysterio is able to hit a headscissors, and goes for another 619, but Kane retaliates with a clothesline that's good for a near fall. Kane tosses Mysterio out to the floor where he lands with a pretty sick thud.
Mysterio is able to beat the count and get to the apron, but when he tries to springboard into the ring, Kane catches him with a big boot that sends him right back out to the floor. Kane follows to the outside, but he eats a drop toe hold that sends him face first into the barricade. Both men head back into the ring and Mysterio heads to the top where he hits a diving head butt from the top. Kane comes right back with a big tilt a whirl backbreaker that's good for a near fall.
Another backbreaker from Kane, and this time he stretches Mysterio across his knee. Kane makes his way to the top turnbuckle, but Mysterio catches him and crotches him on the top. Mysterio goes to the top and he tries for a hurricarana, but Kane hangs on and Mysterio crashes to the mat. Kane goes for the clothesline from the top, but Mysterio moves and hits a big tilt a whirl slot drop and both men are down.
The finish:
Rey hits a seated senton from the top on Kane, and when he gets caught, he counters with a tilt a whirl DDT to put Kane down again. Rey hits a leg drop to the back of Kane's head and hits a giant kick to Kane's head, but it's still not enough to keep Kane down for a three count. Mysterio goes to the top rope, but he leaps right into a big right hand from Kane, that's good for a near fall. Kane looks over at the casket and he opens it and it's still empty. Kane goes for the chokeslam, but Mysterio fights out and almost hits a 619, but Kane is able to push him down into the casket. Rey fights Kane off and hits a springboard dropkick, trying for the 619 again. Kane counters, almost hitting a chokeslam, but another hurricarana leads to a successful 619. Rey is almost able to roll Kane up, but Kane kicks out and is able to hit a giant chokeslam. Kane covers Mysterio and retains.
Winner and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Kane
Kane gets the mic and says he told Mysterio that he would pay for what he did to his brother, and Mysterio will pay with eternal suffering as hell consumes his soul. Kane says Mysterio is surrounded by darkness within the casket. He looks over at the casket and he opens it, another times it's empty and the crows is disappointed. Mysterio fights Kane off and Kane slams the casket closed. He hits Mysterio with two more chokeslams, which he follows up with a tombstone piledriver. Kane drags Mysterio over to the casket, but the Undertaker is there this time. Kane is shocked as Taker sits up.
Takers gets into the ring and the crowd is going nuts. Kane looks nervous. The brothers are having a stare down. Taker looks pretty rough. Kane points at Mysterio, and Taker walks over to him, kneeling down, and asking if Mysterio's ever heard of an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. He says before he makes things right, he asks why Rey did it. I can't hear what Rey said at all, but Taker says he believes him. He grabs Rey around the throat and picks him up to his feet where he lets go of him. He makes the throat cutting motion, but then turns around to look at Kane. Taker points at Kane and grabs him around the throat. Kane smiles and grabs Taker around his throat. Kane overpowers the Undertaker and gets him up for a tombstone piledriver, which plants Taker. Kane hits his pyro, and the music as well, and he stares down at his brother.
Team WWE vs. The Nexus 7-on-7 Elimination Tag Team Match
- John Cena, John Morrison, R-Truth, Bret Hart, Edge, Chris Jericho & ?? vs. Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, Darren Young, Skip Sheffield & Michael Tarver
Nexus is shown walking to the ring, and they cut away to show a video package that shows the events leading up to this match, including the Nexus running wild all over Raw, and Cena putting together his own team. Team Nexus make their way out to the ring first, coming out as a unit. Their entrance certainly is impressive. I'll go ahead and say here that this match will probably be difficult to call, so please cut me a little slack with this one.
John Cena's music hits, and he's the first man out for Team WWE, as it looks like they'll all get separate entrances to stretch out this fairly thin PPV. He gets a big pop as he makes his way about halfway down to the ring. Edge is the next man out, and he also gets a pretty big pop. R-Truth is the next man out for Team WWE and he joins his teammates. Chris Jericho is out fourth for his team and he also gets a nice reaction from the crowd.
John Morrison is out next for his time, and surprisingly he doesn't get his usual slo-mo entrance. Bret Hart is out sixth for his team and he gets one of the biggest pops of the night. Hart definitely doesn't look like he'll be doing too much in the ring tonight though. Miz is out last foe his team, but Cena gets on the mic and says wait a second, Miz is too late. Cena says they realized how important this match was, and they couldn't wait for someone to decide the day of SS, so they found someone for the match, and it's not Miz, it's someone that hates the Nexus as much as them, it's DANIEL BRYAN! Things break down into a brawl immediately and the Nexus is thrown to the outside and DANIEL FREAKING BRYAN IS BACK.
Nexus are freaked out that Bryan is back. Bryan and Young start things off for their teams, and Bryan is able to take Young over with a kitchen sink and he follows up with a series of kicks to the back. Huge Daniel Bryan chants. Bryan locks in a guillotine and a crossface and forces Young to tap out and calls out another member of Nexus.
Darren Young is eliminated
Bryan kicks Justin Gabriel in the chest and tags in Jericho who hits a big belly to back suplex. Jericho tags in Truth who comes in and hits Gabriel with a series of right hands. Truth hits a back kick to Gabriels face and connects with a crazy stunner suplex that's good for a near fall.
Gabriel is able to tag out to Tarver who comes in and works over Truth with a combination of lefts and rights. The ref pulls Tarver off. And when Tarver tries to splash Truth, Truth avoids it and tags out to Morrison. Morrison hits a couple of kicks to Tarver's face and follows up with a big flash kick. Morrison connects with Starship Pain on Tarver and gets three.
Michael Tarver has been eliminated
Skip Sheffield is the next man in to take on Morrison. Skip locks up with Morrison and he tosses Morrison away. Another lock up and he tosses Morrison down to the canvas. Morrison slaps Skip across the face, and follows it up with lefts and rights, but Sheffield responds with a big slam. Sheffield stomps at Morrison's ribs before launching Morrison into the corner. Skip clubs Morrison across the back before sending him into the corner again.
Sheffield suplexes Morrison, taking him down to the mat again. Skip picks him up again, and hits another suplex. Another suplex from Sheffield, and this time it leads to a near fall. Sheffield goes to hit Morrison, but Morrison is able to fight back. Morrison catches a kick to the back of the head from Gabriel, and a big clothesline from Skip takes out Morrison. Skip gets the three count.
Morison has been eliminated
R-Truth is in and he eats a big clothesline from Sheffield. Another three count, another elimination.
R-Truth has been eliminated
Jericho comes in and he takes a big gorilla press slam from Sheffield. Wade Barrett makes the tag and he stomps away at Jericho for a second before tagging in Otunga. Otunga hits Jericho with a couple of rights before slamming him down and tagging Barrett back in. Barrett stomps on Jericho some more before locking in a submission.
Jericho is able to fight out of the submission and hit a single leg dropkick from the middle rope. Jericho rolls over to his corner, and Bret Hart makes the tag, as does Heath Slater. Hart pounds on Slater, even getting him in the corner and going to the middle rope. Hart rakes Slater's face across the ropes before tagging him in the midsection. Hart looks pretty good. Hart picks up Slater and slams him before hitting an elbow drop. Hart hits a Manhattan drop and a big right hand to Slater. Hart locks in the Sharpshooter on Slater, but Sheffield makes the tag. Someone tossed a chair in and Hart uses it on Skip, resulting in a DQ.
Hart has been eliminated
Jericho comes in and hits a codebreaker on Sheffield and he tags in Edge. Edge sets up and hits a big spear on Skip. Edge pins Sheffield and it's 4 on 4.
Skip Sheffield has been eliminated
Justin Gabriel is in and he catches a big boot from Edge. Edge sends Gabriel into the corner and follows in with a spear. Sending him across the ring again. Edge picks up Gabrial and plants him face first down on the mat, and it's good for a two count. Gabriel is able to catch Edge with a huge kick to the face, and it's good for a near fall. Gabriel tags out to Slater, who comes in and stomps away at Edge.

Slater tosses Edge to the outside, and when he pulls him back into the ring, he hits him with a right hand before tagging in Barrett. Barrett hits Edge with a head butt before standing on his throat on the bottom rope.
Barrett picks Edge up and slams him head first into the turnbuckle before connecting with a big backbreaker that's good for a near fall. Barrett locks in a rear chin lock.
Edge is able to fight out of the submission and put Barrett down to the mat and Edge tries for the Impaler DDT, but Barrett counters it into a neckbreaker. Otunga tags into the match and he picks Edge up, trying for a spinebuster, but getting an Implant DDT instead. Edge rolls to his corner and he makes the tag to Jericho. Jericho knocks down Otunga with a couple of shoulder blocks before hitting a running bulldog and a giant lionsault from about 3/4 across the ring. Jericho gets Otunga in the Walls, and forces Otunga to tap.
Otunga has been eliminated
Jericho takes it right to Heath Slater on the outside of the ring, slamming him into the announce table before sending him back into the ring and following back in with a flying elbow from the top rope. Slater dodges Jericho though and Jericho runs into Cena, knocking him from the apron. The distraction leads to a big move from Slater. Jericho is pinned.
Jericho is eliminated
Edge and Cena try to get into the ring ant the same time and the argument leads to a roll up on Edge.
Edge has been eliminated
Edge sends Cena off the apron and he and Jericho attack him on the outside. Barrett is back in the match and he wears away on Cena with a couple of right hands. Cena starts to fight back with a couple of right hands of his own, but he walks into a sidewalk slam from Barrett. Cena blocks a suplex from Barrett and he reverses it into a suplex of his own.
Heath Slater tags in and he prevents Cena from making the tag to Bryan. Slater sends Cena into the corner hard, taking him right down to the mat. Slater sends Cena into the opposite corner and Cena charges out both men hitting clotheslines.
Slater tries to prevent Cena from making the tag, but he's not successful. Bryan comes in and connects with a big kick to Slater, and another series of kicks in the corner to Slater. Bryan avoids Slater in the corner with a backflip and he sends Slater to the outside with a running forearm. Bryan follows out with a big suicide dive. Bryan sends Slater into the ring and follows him with a missile dropkick. Bryan takes out the Nexus, kicks out of a roll up, and locks in a crossface, forcing Slater to tap.
Slater is eliminated
Miz comes from the back and whacks Bryan with his briefcase. Barrett steals the victory with a quick pin.
Bryan is eliminated
Barrett goes to the outside and rolls Cena back into the ring, tagging in Gabriel.
Gabriel charges Cena in the corner, but Cena avoids him and connects with a couple of shoulder blocks before hitting a side belly to back suplex and following it up with the five knuckle shuffle. Cena tries for the AA, but Barrett makes the blind tag, coming in and stopping the AA and hitting Cena repeatedly in the head before stomping away. Barrtt and Gabriel stomp away at Cena repeatedly, making quick tags in and out, continuing to stomp at Cena. Barrett finally tags in and lets Cena get up to his feet, only to hit a big boot to send Cena to the outside. Barrett follows out quickly and Gabriel peels back some of the ringside mats.
Barrett DDT's Cena on the concrete. Barrett sends Cena back into the ring and he tags in Gabriel, telling him to go to the top. Gabriel tries for the 450, but Cena moves out of the way. Cena goes for the quick cover, and scores the three count.
Justin Gabriel is eliminated
Barrett comes in and is quickly caught in the STF. Barrett taps out, and this one is over.
Winner: Team WWE; Sole Survivor: John Cena
Cena celebrates in the middle of the ring while the fans get pretty loud. Cena celebrating ends the show.

The dark match before WWE SummerSlam in Los Angeles saw Evan Bourne defeat Zack Ryder with Air Bourne.
- Melina is the new WWE Divas Champion after defeating Alicia Fox at SummerSlam.
- Daniel Bryan made his return at SummerSlam, being the seventh member of Team RAW in the main event. Bryan replaced The Miz, who said earlier in the night that he would join the team. Bryan was the last RAW member before Cena to be eliminated after Miz interfered in the match.
WWE did the best they could in keeping his return a surprise. Several people who were backstage at SummerSlam all afternoon had no idea Bryan was even there until he showed up.
WWE has added Bryan back on the RAW roster so it looks like he’s back full-time now. Shortly after his appearance, the name “Bryan Danielson” was one of the top trending topics on Twitter.
During an interview with The Tampa Tribune, three-time WWE Women's Champion Beth Phoenix said she hopes to return from her major knee injury in two months.
Phoenix tore her anterior cruciate ligament during a match with former associate Rosa Mendes on the May 6 edition of WWE Superstars. Phoenix dropped the Women's Championship the following week and was written off television.
Phoenix was profiled due to her upcoming appearances for WWE's developmental promotion, Florida Championship Wrestling. "The Glamazon" is scheduled to appear at FCW events on Wednesday in Orlando and Friday in Plant City.
-- Among those in attendance at last night's WWE SummerSlam Kickoff Party in Hollywood, California was former WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia. She noted on Twitter earlier this week that she would be attending the VIP event to make up for missing tomorrow night's SummerSlam and Monday's Raw due to previously scheduled arrangements in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
We are sad to report that former WWE superstar Lance Cade (real name Lance McNaught) was found dead today. He was 29 years old and leaves behind two young daughters. WWE.com has confirmed the death, citing "apparent heart failure" as the cause of death.
Cade was trained by former WWE superstar Shawn Michaels in late 1990’s at Michaels’ wrestling academy in San Antonio, Texas. He held WWE tag team gold with his partner Trevor Murdoch and had a brief run as Chris Jericho’s protege during Jericho’s feud with Shawn Michaels a few years ago. During that program, he was released from WWE after an incident on an airplane where Cade took too many painkillers and went into a seizure. He was brought back to WWE developmental last year but was never used on television and was released again earlier this year.
Cade spoke openly in several interviews about his struggle with sleeping pills. He had been working for independent promotions and in Japan over the past year.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Lance McNaught.

Following yesterday's Hogan-Bischoff-Twitter debacle where a Hogan impostor claimed he and Bischoff were leaving TNA, Eric Bischoff (the real one) is setting the record straight. In comments made exclusively to Slam.Canoe.Ca, Bischoff confirmed that he and Hulk Hogan are still with TNA and will be until 2012.
“ I am with TNA," Bischoff said. "Hulk Hogan is still with TNA. We have a contract for two years, and we plan on fulfilling our contract.”
After Twitter user realhulk_hogan admitted to not being the real Hulk Hogan - the user claimed to be a disgruntled TNA employee upset with Bischoff's performance and said TNA's top stars were planning a walk-out if Bischoff isn't removed from power. Bischoff, however, does not believe the fake Hogan is a TNA employee at all.
“It is probably a 16-year-old dweeb that doesn’t have anything better to do,” Bischoff said “I am 99% sure that there is no validity behind it and the person does not work for TNA.”
The owner of the fake Hogan account, who has over 4,000 followers, now claims to be Christopher Daniels and is urging people to "Unfollow @TNADixie if you don't agree with the current direction in TNA."
Former two-time ECW Champion, former WWE United States Champion, former TNA superstar, & current Strikeforce fighter, Bobby Lashley, was the special guest on this week's live edition (08/09/10) of the award-winning Monday Night Mayhem. Bobby joined The Big Mosh, Jimmy Noonan, & "The Chairman of the Board" Todd Vincent for his debut on "Your Home of Wrestling Radio" (to preview next Saturday night's "Strikeforce: Houston" event on Showtime).
Click Here to listen to an MP3 of Bobby Lashley's appearance on Monday Night Mayhem.
Interview highlights courtesy of The Mayhem's official correspondent, Paterson from New Jersey:
Why we may see Lashley vs. Dave Bautista in Strikeforce sooner vs. later (potentially as early as this fall): "I have a lot of respect for Dave, I like Dave. For me, what I'm trying to do in my career is trying to build and build up into bigger & better competition. As far as fighting Dave after this fight, I'll do the fight right away. If he's serious about doing this, then let's do it. I think they might have a show in October or November sometime around there; if he wants to do it, let's do it then. I'm not really willing to wait 'till next year or anytime after that; I'm moving forward in my career. After this fight, I'm looking at the Arlovski's, the Fedor's, the Brett Rogers'. That's who I set my targets on, so when you talk about that Dave, that fight needs to be done right away, so I could keep moving forward."
How he was "torn" between leaving TNA Wrestling & transitioning into a full-time MMA career with Strikeforce: "At first when I wanted to do it, I talked to all the higher-ups in TNA, and we tried to put together a plan where I could still wrestle, because when you're a wrestler, it's in your blood. So I wanted to wrestle, but I also wanted to fight, and I was torn between the two, and with the TNA schedule, I could do both. We had a couple of things that weren't going together right, and like I said before, I'm trying to build up my competition, and I'm trying to get tougher & tougher opponents as I go, so at one point in time I had to make a decision on which one I was gonna do. I was either gonna be a full-time wrestler, or I was going to fight full-time. That window of fighting is only open for a short amount of time, because it requires so much dedication, training, sparring, & everything else, so I had to step away from TNA and just focus on training."
Why it wouldn't make sense for Bautista to fight anyone else but him for his first MMA fight & who he thinks has the potential to put together a "dream fight" between himself and Brock Lesnar: "I'm gonna say the fight that you want me to say first. I wanna have that fight with Batitsta. Nothing against him or anything, but I think for him to take any other fight would be a waste of his time. If he really wants to get into fighting, I think it wouldn't make any sense for him to get in there and fight anyone else. I don't think it would make any sense. As far as other fights, I would love to fight Fedor before he retires. I think he is pound for pound the best fighter in the world. I think another fight would be Brock. I've been asked that every single day by someone. 'When are you gonna fight Brock? When you gonna take down Brock?' I would love to see that fight with Brock happen. If Dana White won't let it happen, or Scott Coker won't let it happen, maybe Vince would let it happen..."
What professional wrestling & MMA fans can expect in his August 21st fight against Chad Griggs at "Strikeforce: Houston" on Showtime: "There are a lot of good fights on that card, and unless you're real hardcore MMA fans, you may not know some of the guys, but if you go check them out, there are some great fighters. My fight: You're gonna see a side of me that you saw in wrestler, but now you're going to see it in the cage, and I'm going after this guy, and I'm going to suck the life out of this guy and pound him."
More is contained in this exclusive interview with Lashley, including his candid thoughts/comments on which promotion he feels has grown the most since his respective departures from WWE & TNA, which of his former colleagues in professional wrestling he pays the most attention to/follows today, along with a sneak preview of the forthcoming "EA Sports MMA" video game (being released this fall). While gearing up for "Strikeforce: Houston" & Bobby's return into the octagon, be sure to check Lashley's network online: his official website (located at www.FightBobby.com), his official Facebook page (located at www.Facebook.com/FightBobby), his official Twitter page (located at www.Twitter.com/FightBobby), plus the official website of Bobby's gym: the American Team Altitude (located at: ATTAltitude.com).

Linda McMahon Comments On Vulgar Chants Directed Towards Daughter
]]>Influential Capitol Hill news operation Politico has a story on Linda McMahon entitled WWE just a 'soap opera'. It is titled as such due to the Republican Senate candidate referring to World Wrestling Entertainment as a soap opera upon being asked on Nightline if she was "creeped out" by an instance in which her daughter Stephanie walked into the ring as the crowd chanted "slut."
"You have to think about... the WWE as soap operas," McMahon responded.
"It was acting and WWE is the longest-running weekly episodic program in television. Sure, there are story lines that are better than others," she said, adding that voters in Connecticut "are not concerned about soap opera story lines."
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog once again at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:
Missing SummerSlam: "Because of the short work day re: West Coast time this Sunday and with Summer Slam starting in LA at 5 Pacific, I won't be traveling to the event. I will watch it on PPV from the old, La-Z-Boy and, like any die hard fan, expect plenty of bang for my PPV dollar in the form of surprises, shockers, and stout bouts. "
Brock Lesnar's Next Fight: "Brock's next fight vs. Cain Velásquez is going to be massive and likely will garner over 1M PPV buys. Velásquez, the Hispanic superstar, has a spotless record and according to Herschel Walker is one of the best conditioned athletes on the planet. At 240, Cain is built to go 25 minutes if necessary. I'm still a solid, Lesnar guy but even those close to Brock know that this fight will be a huge challenge for the UFC Heavyweight Champion. Among the topics discussed in Chris Jericho's upcoming autobiography, Undisputed: How to Become the World Champion in 1,372 Steps, is that of Chris Benoit. He offers insight into the man he previously considered a friend.
Regarding Benoit's peculiar sense of humor, the rough draft states: "Not a giggle, not a chuckle, not a tee-hee…never went 'Ha.' But when somebody threw up or fell down the stairs, he would laugh out loud for hours on end."
On being his friend, Jericho said while they were close, it wasn't easy.
The rough draft states: "I considered Chris to be one of my closest companions, but it wasn't always easy to be his friend. You had to take the good with the bad when it came to his friendship."
Upon learning of the Benoit family death, Jericho notes: "My gut feeling was Chris had killed them."
The book also features discussion of his arrival to WWE, the highs and lows, his relationship with Vince McMahon, the creation of Fozzy, and more. The book is set for release on February 16, 2011.

World Wrestling Entertainment spokesperson Robert Zimmerman contacted the Orlando Sentinel Tuesday to dispute elements of its story on Nightline profiling former WWE CEO Linda McMahon.
Zimmerman disputed a note on WWE lacking adequate steroid testing and Nightline referring to the lack of health care and penchants for former performers. Zimmerman said WWE does have an abuse and drug testing policy, which was reinstated in 2006.
He also noted that its Talent Wellness Program provides some medical services for performers under contract, but they are expected to pay for any non wrestling related health care services. Retired performers are not covered.
Jeff Wilen of The Daytona Beach News-Journal interviewed Eric Bischoff in his latest JAWBreaker column. Among the topics discussed include the latest going-ons in TNA Wrestling, the big names working together, the tag-team division, Bound for Glory in Daytona Beach, Tommy Dreamer playing a bigger role in the organization, Linda McMahon running for a Senate seat, Paul Heyman and Rob Van Dam.
Bischoff claimed during the interview that he pitched the EV2 storyline back in February and suggested that Dixie Carter reach out to Paul Heyman.
"The whole EV2 story line was something I pitched in February of this year," said Bischoff. "It wasn't a Tommy Dreamer idea. Tommy's a great guy and has great experience. I called Paul and suggested to Dixie (Carter) and Vince Russo that we should reach out to Paul and see if he was interested in coming in. I don't think it will happen with Paul. He is looking for something different. I don't think Dreamer will be involved in creative. We have a solid team, with great chemistry. We've had great success the last couple weeks and months."
When asked if he and Hulk Hogan plan on sticking around for a while, Bischoff replied, "We have a couple of years left on our contracts.

Linda McMahon is the Republican nominee for the vacant United States Senate seat in Connecticut. Following her big win on Tuesday night to secure that nomination, Linda McMahon spoke to CNN.com about whether her Democratic opponent will use her wrestling past against her.
“As my opponents talked more and more about the WWE and issues that may have been relative to programming content …instead of focusing on the issues, I talked about tissues and continued to gain momentum,” McMahon told CNN Wednesday morning.
“If my opponents want to talk about soap opera content instead of focusing on issues, I will win again in November,” she added.
Democrats have already drawn attention to WWE’s controversial programming and the countless wrestler deaths in recent years. Linda says it’s more important to focus on what WWE is doing today to protect its workers.
“The men and women that perform at WWE really are the primary assets of the WWE. And we want to protect them at all costs,” she said. “Doctors that travel with them…trainers that travel with them. We have a very comprehensive drug testing program. Let’s look at where WWE is today.”

Reports are now saying that McMahon has secured the Republican nomination by winning tonight’s primary. Linda McMahon is the current top story on CNN.com at 10:50EST with the headline “Former wrestling exec wins Connecticut Senate primary”. That’s major. Simmons called McMahon at about 10PM Eastern and conceded the race. Linda had this to say:
“Tonight, I am honored to have earned the support of Republicans around Connecticut. Since I entered this race eleven months ago, we have crisscrossed this great state and attended over 660 meetings and events, where I have had the opportunity to hear from voters and better understand their issues and concerns. … I understand that people are hurting because I see it all around this state. And I know what that feels like because I’ve been there before.
“This election is about jobs. The American Dream is threatened, but Washington continues its reckless spending, massive debt, and tax increases. Washington is suffocating small businesses and killing jobs. This is not only threatening our well-being, but also the well-being of our children and grandchildren. It’s time for something different.
“I’m honored to have earned my party’s nomination, and I am determined to lead our party to victory in November.”
Linda will now represent the Republican party vs. the Democrats in November.
The Great Khali was brutally attacked by Nexus on RAW and it appears he's now being kept off Sunday's SummerSlam show. WWE then wrote the following on Twitter a few hours ago:
“WWE Doctors have determined that Great Khali suffered patella and ligament damage. He is unlikely to compete at SummerSlam.”
Based on what happened on RAW, we could see The Miz take Khali's spot as the last member of Team RAW.
-- Linda McMahon is set for a big win today at the Connecticut Republican primary. Polls show Linda with a huge lead at 50%. Rob Simmons is at 28% while Peter Schiff is at 15%.
-- Another NXT Rookie will be eliminated on tonight’s SyFy show from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. WWE will tape the go-home episode of Friday Night SmackDown as well. No matches have been announced but Kane vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Jack Swagger is being advertised locally.
WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was interviewed this week by the The UK Sun.
Here are some highlights of what Austin said about:
WWE's PG Product: "You will hear wrestling fans all over the world groan when they hear me say this but I think WWE is doing the right thing. Cena is leading the way now. It is a PG flavored WWE theme and I think it's great for the longevity and the growth of their product in today's world."
Why MMA Is Taking Older Viewers From the WWE: "UFC interviews are based on a shoot and they are non-scripted. Those guys out there are trying to sell tickets for a fight and they talk accordingly. It's a serious product that's in the ring. Wrestling is supposed to be that serious product in the ring as well. That's not to say that you can't laugh, smile, and have some humor in there, but you don't want to do slapstick Three Stooges comedy while you're trying to draw main event money at a big PPV."
Whether They Pushed Things Too Far in the Attitude Era: "I remember one time Vince came up to me, I was flipping the middle fingers and all that. Vince said 'Steve, we were wondering if you could come up with a different hand signal than the middle fingers. Something that everyone watching could do.' I guess it's not so politically correct for a six-year-old kid to throw up the middle finger. I said, 'No. I'm going to be who and what I am.' And Vince kind of said, 'Okay' - or at least the ratings and the merch sales said 'okay.' So that's the direction we went with the WWE, and everybody else followed suit."
The triple threat will be Angle vs. Anderson vs.Morgan…With Angle winning Sp much for trying to hype Angle vs. Hardy for the first time…Which its not their first meeting They used to wrestle in wwe quite alot. Jeff hardy to take the title from Angle later and then a match of dreams - Jeff hardy vs. RVD for the World Title.

This week’s RAW starts with Bret Hart coming out to the ring. He’s wearing a Batman t-shirt under his obligatory leather jacket. Into the ring and off comes the sunglasses. Bret grabs a mic and gives a cheap pop to the already wild fans. He says for the past two weeks he’s been home training for SummerSlam. Then everything falls apart. Boos. He said he’s a little disappointed, that’s an understatement. Edge and Jericho quit the team. Three weeks go he went to meet with his good friend Cena and vouched for those guys. Said they have the experience and will see the big picture. That Nexus’ momentum needs to be stopped now. Guess he was wrong. It’s not too late, so he’s asking Jericho and Edge out to face him, face to face. See if they can put this machine back together again. “Y2J” chants.
Jericho out in black suit, black shirt, black and white tie. Jericho says he can’t vouch for Edge, but Bret needs to dazzle him, impress him, tell him he’s the best in the world at what he does. Heat for Jericho. Blow him away… Bret told him to shut up, he doesn’t have time for that crap. It’s put up time. Jericho’s chance to be a man, step up the plate and change things. He put his reputation on the line for them to join the team. If Jericho doesn’t join Team WWE, they’re not hurting them, they’re hurting themselves. Nexus doesn’t want anything to do with them. All the superstars they turned on, they don’t want anything to do with them. If Nexus walks out of SummerSlam with their hands raised, they’re only hurting themselves. They’ll be men without countries, out casts, nowhere to go. Dogs without bones. This is their chance, step up and join Team WWE and make things right. Do the honorable thing!
Jericho looks sheepish, looks at the fans out of the corner of his eyes. Bret asks if he’d consider rejoining Team WWE now, or will he look in the mirror everyday and know he quit, walked out, broke his word. This is his chance to do right. Jericho says Bret says things that made him thinks and his answer is… still no. He had Bret figured out years ago. He’s a phony. He’s a hypocrite like all them. Not concerned about beating Nexus, he’s more concerned about the beating of his life tonight from him and Edge. He’s afraid of the spear, tapping out to the walls. He’s a desperate man, can see it in Bret’s eyes. He scared. Even worse, Bret knows they can’t beat Nexus at SummerSlam without him and Edge. No one can replace them. Not in this company or the industry. Again, Bret is screwed. He made it clear that he’s not interested in teaming with Cena and less interested in teaming with Bret. He’s only interested in dismantling Bret, right here.
Edge’s music and he’s out in a plaid shirt over a black t-shirt and holed up faded jeans. Edge asks Jericho what’s the matter with him, this is Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart. They grew up idolizing him. He’s the reason they got into this business. Jericho trained in the Dungeon. Edge grew up in Toronto, had Bret’s poster on his wall. He shoveled driveways in the winter to get money to go to Maple Leaf gardens to see Bret and hope he’d put those sunglasses on his head. Edge says he doesn’t know about Jericho, but he can count Edge in. Edge shakes his head at Jericho. Jericho drops and rolls from the ring. Bert and Edge shake, but then Edge tries to kick Bret. Bret grabs the foot and sets up for the sharpshooter. Jericho in with a thumb to Bret’s eye. Natalya runs to the ring, past Jericho and Edge. She begs him…

They’ve survived them all and will survive this. Jericho says they generals. They need to talk out Cena and Bret, then there won’t be a match at SummerSlam. Without a match, they’re in the clear. Edge likes that.
Morrison says they need to have each other’s backs. They agree to this. But they need replacements. Henry walks up and says he’s there, they don’t need two, only one. This match is his audition.

He was scared, scared of what he’d do to Orton. Usually when people say that they’re talking out of their asses, but he hurts people. Has been since he came into the WWE, that why he’s Champion. Orton’s music hits quickly and out he comes. Sheamus says he’s surprised Orton accepted his invitation. Orton cuts him off and says he has something to say first. He believes Sheamus’ capable of hurting people, but that he didn’t get in the ring for fear of what he could do to him? He thinks it’s bull. He had the opportunity to prove he should be taken seriously. Sheamus says everyone takes him seriously, fella. Orton says he blew it then and will blow it this Sunday. “RKO” chants about took the roof off. Sheamus can show all the videos, say all he wants, but he’s never beaten Orton and never will. 2. Angelina Love defeated Madison Rayne to win the TNA Knockouts Title in 3:45. Velvet Sky removed the biker chick's helmet, but she had a mask on.
Pepa of Salt-n-Pepa is in the front row.
3. Matt Morgan defeated D'Angelo Dinero and Mr. Anderson in a three-way match in 3:48. Anderson had Pope covered, but Morgan broke it up and pinned Pope himself.
Jeff Hardy's open challenge was accepted by (drumroll)... Shannon Moore. I hope someone else comes out. Really?
4. Jeff Hardy pinned Shannon Moore in 6:45. Hardy pinned Moore after hitting the Swanton. They hugged after the match and there was a nice OMEGA chant from the crowd.
Powell's POV: I wonder if the open challenge will lead to Shane "Hurricane" Helms challenging him on a future show?
5. The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Beer Money in a best of three falls match to retain the TNA Tag Titles. Great first fall. Robert Roode pinned Alex Shelley following the DWI at 8:03.
The second fall saw Shelley pin Roode in 1:25 after the MCMG combo neckbreaker and splash combo off the top rope.
Chris Sabin pinned James Storm in 6:52 to win the third fall. Pyro after the win. A super hot match that earned "Match of the Year" chants.
6. Rob Van Dam defeated Abyss in a Stairway to Janice match to retain the TNA Title in 17:12. Eric Bischoff was special referee. After the match, Hogan came out to congratulate RVD, and then he invited EV2 out. Hogan left.
EV2 celebrated and then the lights when out. When the lights came on, Beer Money, A.J. Styles, Kazarian, Douglas Williams, and Matt Morgan beat and bloodied EV2. Ric Flair came out and chased Dixie Carter to the back. EV2 was destroyed. Flair said it's Fortune's house and they set the bar, not EV2.
EV2 was Dreamer, Team 3D, Mick Foley, Rhino, Stevie Richards, Little Guido, Rob Van Dam, Bill Alfonso, and Sabu. Sandman and Raven made separate attempts to save EV2, but he was beat up. The angle was long as hell. Knowing TNA production, it will be three minutes long on Thursday. So it's now a faction war with EV2 vs. Fortune. The golden rule was followed, as every EV2 wrestler wore white to show the crimson. Pepa actually left due to the violence.
They are changing the mat for the Xplosion tapings, so this concludes the taping for Thursday's show. The crowd chanted for Taz, but he never left the booth. I love Flair, but he was rambling on and slipped out an "ECW" mention. Morgan choked Stevie with what looked like a tie (how original). Most of Fortune had Singapore canes.
They are changing the mat for the Xplosion tapings, so this concludes the taping for Thursday's show.

When news broke that former WWE superstar Batista was entering the world of Mixed Martial Arts and will be fighting for the Strikeforce MMA promotion later this year, speculation began immediately that we could see him fight against fellow WWE alum Bobby Lashley (5-0).
Lashley tells Sherdog.com that he would take a fight against Batista if Strikeforce really pushed it, but he'd rather focus on more experienced fighters in his quest for Heavyweight gold:
"It's not really the direction I want to move (in), but if it's worth it and they really think he's ready and Strikeforce wants me to fight him, I'll take the fight. I've had a good game plan up to this point and I really want to move in the right direction. Dave's just starting out. I'm looking to better myself and get better opponents each time. I'm not disrespecting Dave at all, but he's new to the game. That's definitely a fight for the fans, but not so much for my career."
Lashley's next fight takes place later this month on August 21st against Chad Griggs at Strikeforce: Houstson on Showtime.

On his final months in TNA
Well I didn't want to waste myself so I felt I should leave instead of just stay there and be in the background, I didn't come to be part of the background and be a part of a group or anything, even though the Main Event Mafia was hot and it could have been hotter if it was done right. I felt the Main Event Mafia could still be going now, it's similar to Nexus Vs WWE. That's really a formula you can't go wrong with, it's something in life - the young guys always want to take the older guys spots. I felt TNA didn't capitalize on it.
TNA's branding
I felt they took a huge step back when they got rid of the six sided ring after investing seven years in it and making people believe they were a different company and went back to being the same as everybody else. That was your signature, your staple and there were a lot of complaints from people saying they couldn't work in it properly and I know exactly what the problem was because I worked in it - it was just too small. They should have made it two feet bigger on each side and it would have been perfectly fine for Hogan to get in and work as opposed to changing the look of TNA to make it look like WCW. WCW is dead and it will never come back and it should be that way because life is evolution, we go forward not backward.
The ECW reunion show
I know a lot of the ECW guys - RVD is literally my best friend and we're really tight and doing the ECW thing, it's a nostalgia thing but it's not done the right way and more importantly not done for the right reasons and it's done for a TV rating and that's not what they need to be focusing on. The ratings will come if you put your time into the product and stay on the grind when it comes to focusing on where you're trying to go as opposed to coming in and figuring it out on the fly and it all goes back to having a staff that is coming up with different ideas and you can bounce them off wrestlers who have been in the ring wrestling, that can go up top and give it a 'yea' or 'nay'. You've got to be able to agree to disagree without having animosity and have egos involved when you're trying to run a business and when I was there it didn't feel like it was being run like we really wanted to win and I'm not saying I wanted to beat WWE but I wanted to be the best wrestling company out there and it has nothing to do with WWE.
Comparisons of the Nexus invasion to the WCW invasion angle
You've got a lot of young and hungry guys out there and with WCW you had a lot of young guys that wasn't hungry, that didn't really care about the business. Those guys got real lazy and there were only probably two of us that could go out and perform at that time, everybody else was in their zone and weren't prepared for WWE and the take over by WWE, no one was prepared for that but I was saw it coming long before it came.
Current problems with brother Stevie Ray
Me and my brother have a feud going, hopefully one day it works itself out. I still love my brother, it ain't nothing like that but until he can come to grips on certain things and I can come to them it will be a little rocky. Maybe he will hear this or not, but I've got a couple of twins in the world if you want to get them a hollar they're in the hospital at St. Luke's.
Another potential run with a national promotion
I would not say that I won't be in the big spotlight again - I've got some stuff brewing just keep your ears open and maybe coming up real soon. Booker T. is not over yet, I'm still going to go out there and perform like I said, do my thing, like I always do and make my fans jump.
The entire 30-minute interview with Booker T. is available at iveaudiowrestling.com/downloads and The LAW airs each Sunday night at 11pm EST on Sirius 98 Hardcore Sports Radio.

TNA Hardcore Justices Results
Sunday, August 8, 2010
Results by: Sean Hopkins of WrestlingNewsWorld.com
We open the show with a video package highlighting some of the former stars of ECW, current members of EV2.0. They talk about how they revolutionized the wrestling business, and it was where they learned some of the most important lessons in their careers. They also talk about paying tribute, and coming home tonight.
No pyro, but we do get crowd shots, and lots of 'E-C-Dub' Chants. There's a different ring announcer, though I'm not sure who he is, and he introduces Taz. Taz makes his way out to the entrance ramp with a mic in hand. He welcomes the fans to Hardcore Justice. Lots of 'Taz' chants. He says he's been backstage since 11 a.m. and he's looked into the eyes of the athletes that will perform tonight, and it's going to get extreme, because the desire is in their eyes again, and their passion will bleed out tonight in more ways than one. The Impact Zone is absolutely packed. Taz says as of recent, there's been some haters and doubters on what they did back in the day. He hears stuff like 'they were a bush league promotion'. Taz says they weren't all about violence. All they did was revolutionize the business. He says they were the true renegades of the industry, and that's the real deal. Taz says they were the little engine that could, and they did. He says he's got a message to the folks who doubt what they did, they don't get it, and they never will, so they might as well just kiss his a--.
Taz says he's done, he's the human suplex machine, beat him if you can. Back to Stephen DeAngeles, the ring announcer, and it's time for the first match.
6-Man Tag Team Match
- The FBI vs. Kid Kash, Simon Diamond & Johnny Swinger
The FBI of Tony Mamaluke, Little Guido, and Tracy Smothers make their way out first. Kid Kash is the first man announced for the opposing team, and he makes his way out to a big pop from the crowd. Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger are announced as Kash's partner, and this one is on. We get formal ring introductions for all six men, as well as Big Sal E. who accompanied the FBI, and there's huge pops for everyone.
The start:
Kid Kash and Guido start things out for their respective teams. For some reason the house lighting is kind of a blue hue. Guido takes Kash right down to the mat where he and Kash roll around for a bit before getting right back up. Kash and Guido chain wrestle for a bit, trading roll ups and starting to argue. Kash shoves Guido and then Guido extends his hand. Kash shakes hands with Guido, but brings him in nose to nose. Tony Luke tags in, and so does Swinger. Luke hits a drop toe hold and tries for a roll up but Swinger kicks out. Luke locks in an arm bar, but Swinger picks him up off the mat and slams him down to break the hold. Smother and Diamond are the next men to tag in.
Mid-match notes:
Diamond and Smothers come to blows, with Smothers looking like a million bucks, taking it right to Diamond, taking him down to the mat, hitting a big knee drop, and taking Diamond to the outside. Diamond grabs a mic while on the outside, and he comes back into the ring, telling the Impact Zone that he has a problem. This crowd is pretty awesome, very reminiscent of an old ECW machine. Diamond says they're not a fine oiled machine because of Kash. So while the FBI can probably out-wrestle them, their team can out-dance them. Diamond asks for the DJ to hit the music and initiates a dance contest.
Swinger and Diamond dance, horribly, while Kash looks on ashamedly. Smothers grabs the mic and says Michael Jackson rolled over in his grave. He asks the DJ to hit the music again because if they can't do better everyone dies. The FBI then begins to dance.
This is pretty goofy as Guido does the can opener, Smothers tries to do the worm. Sal E. dances a bit, but the distraction allows Swinger and Diamond to attack from behind. They try to tag Sal E., but they're taken down by a double clothesline instead. Everyone brawls to the outside except Kash. The referee gets down on his hands and knees, and Kash takes off, jumping off the ref's back and diving to the outside on top of everyone. Things move quickly back into the ring where Kash and Luke are legal. Kash takes Luke over his knee with a backbreaker that's good for a near fall.
Kash and Luke trade huge chops with Luke gaining the advantage with a clothesline. When Luke charges Kash though, Kash responds with a powerslam into the corner. Luke tags out to Guido who takes out Diamond and Swinger before hitting a cross body and Russian leg sweep to Kash before a low drop kick that's good for a near fall. Things before to break down and there's a crazy tower of doom spot with everyone in the match except Diamond. Diamond comes in and hits a series of suplexes on Guido, but then Smothers is right there with an eye poke and clothesline. Smothers is takes out by Swinger, who's taken out by Luke. Kash hits a double underhook suplex on Luke.
The finish:
Guido hits a leg drop on Kash. Guido hits the unprettier on Simon Diamond and goes for the pin, scoring the three count.
Winners: The FBI
Taz and Tenay talk a bit about how Tenay has never called an ECW match before. They then turn to the injury situation, talking about how Jerry Lynn had to drop out of tonight's event due to a back injury, and he'll be replaced in the main event by Sabu.
We get updates on Todd Gordon, Pitbull #1, and The Blue Meanie who all get one more chance to be on PPV and thank the fans for supporting them throughout their careers.
I guess we'll get a lot of segments tonight. AJ Styles remembers the Singapore Cane match between Sandman and Tommy Dreamer where Dreamer continued to ask for lashes from the Sandman. Styles says Dreamer may be one of the toughest wrestlers in the world.
Angelina Love is next and she talks about how the crowd reactions made everything even better.
Al Snow is backstage talking to Head, yelling at it for chanting those three little letters. Stevie Richards asks is Al is OK, and Al says no. He runs down everything that could go wrong, and then asks if Stevie knows a good therapist. Nova comes in from out of nowhere, but he's got a different shirt on, and Al yells that he can't even use the shirt of he'll get sued. I can't tell who it is, but someone comes in dressed up as the Blue Meanie, and Nova says he's just as good as the real thing. Al says he's not the guy and storms off with Head. This is pretty ridiculous. Stevie Richards says tonight is about proving to everyone what Stevie is about. He doesn't seem too pleased about the fake Blue Meanie. Someone else omes in picking his nose and I have absolutely no idea who it is, or is meant to be. The segment ends with weird guy and fake Blue Meanie picking each others noses. Dumb.
Singles Match
- CW Anderson vs. Too Cold Scorpio
The Enforcer CW Anderson is the first man out to the ring. Tenay is quick to point out that he's not related to Arn or Ole Anderson. His opponent is 2 Cold Scorpio, who's name is of course, spelled differently. Both men got very nice reactions, and both look to be in very good shape. Again we get formal ring introductions for both.
The start:
Both men lock up and Scorpio is quick to go behind. Anderson turns things into a wrist lock, but Scorpio is able to use the ropes to flip and turn the wrist lock around. A leg sweep and attempted pin from Anderson yields a two count. Anderson tags Scorpio with a couple of forearms, and Scorpio returns a couple of his own. Anderson locks in a side head lock, and Scorpio sends him into the ropes, hitting a beautiful dropkick that sends Anderson to the outside. A dropkick through the ropes and corkscrew plancha from Scorpio are beautiful.
Mid-match notes:
Back in the ring, Scorpio hits a top rope cross body to Anderson for a two count. Anderson and Scorpio trade blows with Anderson scoring a superkick, good for a near fall. Anderson stomps at Scorpio's arms and legs before picking him up and tossing him shoulder first into the ring post. This blue light thing is really annoying. Anderson wrenches Scorpio's arm, but Scorpio responds with a back kick out of nowhere. A series of jabs startles Anderson, but Anderson ducks a kick and knocks Scorpio down with a big blow of his own. Anderson gets a two count when he goes for the pin.
Anderson and Scorpio trade roll ups. Anderson avoids a kick and hits Scorpio with a big forearm shiver. Scorpio sends Anderson into the corner and hits a cannonball like maneuver before going up top to hit the front flip leg drop. Scorpio pins Anderson but still only gets two. Scorpio goes back up top and goes for a moonsault but Anderson gets his knees up. Anderson hits a big spinebuster and goes for the pin but Scorpio kicks out at two.
The finish:
Anderson hits Scorpio with a couple of forearms, but when he charges in from the ropes Scorpio connects with a big kick. Scorpio goes up top and hits a moonsault leg drop. Scorpio pins Anderson and gets the three count.
Winner: Too Cold Scorpio
After the match Scorpio pulls Anderson back into the ring. He says something to Anderson before offering his hand. Anderson and Scorpio shake hands, and Scorpio raises Anderson's hand to the cheers of the fans.
Madison Rayne gets a chance to talk about ECW, but I zoned out after she started talking about how TNA was like ECW. Matt Morgan talks about how when he went on vacation he used to be able to watch EVW and he loved it. He talks about when he was a bouncer once for an ECW show and how much he loved it. Mr. Anderson talks about how ECW brought something different to the table in the 90's.
RVD is backstage with Bill 'Fonzie' Alfonso. He talks about how much he loved his matches against Jerry Lynn and he can't wait to do it again in 2010. He says though, that Lynn trained too hard and hurt his back, so he's not going to be able to make it. RVD says Dreamer called him and asked him who he wanted to wrestle, and RVD had to really think about it. RVD says there's a lot left unfinished from his TV Title run. He says it's also important to please the fans. He tried to think who he could wrestle that would capture the time frame, and it's got to be Sabu. Fonzie says you couldn't have picked a more hardcore wrestler than Sabu. RVD says he knows Fonzie managed both men, and he wants to know he can count on Fonzie. Fonzie says he'll call it right down the middle. He knows both men have a lot of history and it'll be one of the greatest matches of all time. Fonzie reassures RVD he'll call it down the middle before blowing his whistle.
Singles Match
- P.J. Polaco vs. Stevie Richards
Polaco, AKA Justin Credible, is the first man out to the ring, and he has a kendo stick in hand. Credible does not look great with huge dark circles under his eyes. Stevie Richards is out next with Nova and fake blue Meanie in tow.
The start:
The bell rings and both men lock up, Polaco locks in a head lock, but Richards is quick to fight it off, only to eat a big shoulder block. Another lock up and a head lock from Richards. Polaco fights it off, and Richards comes back with a shoulder block. Yet another lock up, and Polaco grabs Richards' hair and pulls him back to the corner where he hits a couple of knees to the stomach. Stevie turns it around and sends Polaco into one corner, and then the other. Polaco rolls to the outside, and Richards follows, but Polaco pushes him back first into the ring apron. Polaco hits a suplex on the floor before rolling back inside and hitting a slingshot splash right back to the outside on top of Richards.
Mid-match notes:
Back in the ring Polaco stomps on Richards in the corner before yanking him out by the legs and bringing him down in a powerbomb. Polaco sends Richards into the ropes and catches him with a boot to the stomach before following it up with a big DDT and a jawbreaker. Stevie responds with a kick to the face, but it's short lives as Polaco continues the assault in the corner with kicks and chops. Polaco catches Stevie around the neck with his feet, and Richards throws Polaco to the outside where fake Meanie and Nova taunt him. Polaco rolls back into the ring where he eats a series of right hands and forearms from Richards before Richards hits a nice delayed side slam. Stevie picks up Polaco and drills him with a powerbomb, but it's only good for two.
The finish:
Stevie dives from the second rope, but he's met with a big kick from Polaco. Polaco hits a big piledriver and goes for the pin, but pulls Richards up at the count of two. Polaco taunt Stevie, beginning his Justin Credible phrase, but catching a big Stevie kick instead. Richards pins Polaco and gets the two count.
Winner: Stevie Richards
After the match Stevie celebrates, but he eats a bunch of cane shots from Polaco.
The lights go out in the Impact Zone, and when they come back on, Sandman is in the ring with a Singapore Cane of his own. Polaco tries to hit Sandman, but Sandman avoids it and hits the Singapore Cane assisted Russian leg sweep before cracking Polaco over the head. Sandman picks up Polaco's cane and drapes it over his throat before posing over his prone body.
Francine gets a little bit of screen time and we see her 1 year old daughter. She thanks the fans, and the boys in the back. She says she loved performing for everyone, and event though she's done in wrestling the fans will always be in her heart.
Triple Threat Match
- Brother Runt vs. Al Snow vs. Rhino Update
Before the match Taz and Tenay make it seem like there's going to be a video package highlighting wrestler's who are no longer around, but there's just a title card.
Brother Runt is out first, followed by Al Snow (of course with Head), and then Rhino. All three men get nice pops from the crowd.
The start:
This match will apparently be elimination rules. The circling begins and Brother Runt puts Snow in a head lock, only to be put in a head lock by Rhino. Snow is sent to the outside and Runt tries for a pin on Rhino only to eat a shoulder block. Rhino teases the Gore, but Snow grabs his feet out from under him. Snow hits a backbreaker on Runt, but Rhino is there, sending him to the outside. Rhino charges Runt, and he's tossed over the ropes by Runt. Runt dives to the outside, but he's caught by Snow and Rhino, and they simply toss him over their heads to the entrance
ramp.
Mid-match notes:
Snow rolls Rhino into the ring and tries for a slingshot leg drop but he misses. Snow catches Rhino with a double underhook and a series of head butts. Snow hits a big moonsault that's good for two.
Snow tries to use head, but Rhino prevents it, putting him down with a dvd. Runt hits Snow with a double stomp from the top. He tries for the Dudley Dawg, but Rhino simply tosses him off. Runt responds with a hurricarana to take Rhino off his feet and everyone is down. Snow and Runt are up first, and Rhino soon after. Runt hits both men with left and rights but when he tries for a double Dudley Dawg, he's tossed to the outside. Snow and Rhino fight and the ref goes down. Snow grabs head and smashes it into Rhino's face. Runt throws a chair at Snow and takes a dive, Snow slams the chair down and falls down himself and everyone is down.
The finish:
Everyone makes it up and Runt connects with the Dudley Dog on Snow. Runt gets the three count, eliminating Snow. Runt turns right around into a gore, and a three count eliminates him as well.
Winner: Rhino
Mick Foley gets a bit of interview time to talk about his role in Raven vs. Dreamer later tonight. Foley says he knows their history better than almost anyone. He says he's been friends and enemies of both men. He knows there's serious potential for the match to get out of hand, and he knows it's being billed as a final showdown, and if that's how it's being billed, you need someone who'll be able to be there when the smoke clears, to make the three count, and Foley can do that.
Brutus Magnus talks about how impressive it is that ECW was able to sustain itself for so long on passion alone. Chris Sabin talks about how his first taste of hardcore wrestling was Terry Funk vs. Sabu and it was simply captivating. Sabin says people like that, like RVD, inspired him to become who he is today.
Tag Team Match
- Axl Rotten & Kahoneys vs. Team 3D
Alright, it's Balls Mahoney, and he'll be Balls in this review. Balls grabs the mic, he says what you're looking at in the ring, is the most hardcore tag team in wrestling. The most extreme tag team in the history of the business, and they don't have a match, so this is an open challenge to anyone in the back. Joel Gertner makes his way out with a tye-dye clad 3D and there's a huge pop from the crowd.
Gertner does his old shtick on the mic, and even Balls on the outside is loving it. Gertner is freaking ridiculous, saying things I guarantee you'll never hear on TNA PPV ever again before giving Team 3D a proper introduction.
Ray tells Balls and Axl to come into the ring for a second. He tells the crowd they're looking at four of the most hardcore men to ever step into a wrestling ring, and the last thing the people want to see is a 'wrestling match' so they should do what they do best, and give the people exactly what they came to see, Old School South Philly Street Fight. Fisticuffs ensue and this one is on.
The start:
This is basically just a brawl with Axy and D-Von and Ray and Balls squaring off. Things quickly spill to the outside, and TNA employs their dumb split screen that makes everything so much harder to follow.
Mid-match notes:
Balls tags Ray with a couple of big right hands, but he eats a big boot and a second rope shoulder block for his troubles. D-Von begins looking under the ring apron but he gives up pretty easily. Ray grabs a styrofoam head from the audience and whacks Balls over the top of the head. Balls replies in kind. Things spill to the crowd, where the fans are absolutely loving it. Everyone is basically just beating on everyone else up the staircase.
Rey hits Balls with yet another Head, and Axl and D-Von fight up and down another staircase. This is just an absolute mess. It's fun, but there's nothing going on but guys punching each other. They fight back to the ringside area where Ray sends Balls into the ring and begins throwing weapons into the ring left and right.
In the ring Ray eats a trash can lid shot from Balls. Balls tries for a second rope leg drop, but Ray moves, and whack Balls over the head with a frying pan that sends him to the outside. Axl comes in the ring and hits Ray with a series of punches and an elbow of his own before whacking him with a cookie sheet. D-Von tries to hit Axl with the clothesline, but Axl ducks it and hits him with a couple of right hands for good measure. Axl comes up with a plastic lightsaber from out of nowhere, and D-Von tosses in another for Ray. Axl and Ray have a lightsaber duel in the middle of the ring, with Balls coming out on top. Balls hits Ray with a couple of right hands, but Ray comes back with a lightsaber low blow. Ray hits a couple of right hands of his own, dances and hits a bionic elbow.
Axl hits Ray with an inverted DDT that's good for a near fall. D-Von comes in an hits a neckbreaker on Rotten. Balls hits a big sit out powerbomb, that's good for a two count. Everyone gets to their feet and everyone has a chair. Balls and Axl are the ones who comes out on top, hitting 3D with chairs and going for a simultaneous near fall. Axl and Balls try to clothesline the ref, but the ref ducks. 3D hit Rotten and Balls with chair shots of their own, but it's not enough to keep either man down. 3D hit the What's up head butt on Balls and Ray tells D-Von to get the tables.
The finish:
3D bring a table into the ring and set it up and Gertner hands Ray a bottle of lighter fluid. This is not a good idea. Ray absolutely douses the table with lighter fluid. D-Von sets the table on fire and Ray powerbombs Balls through it. D-Von pins Balls and 3D gets the win.
Winners: Team 3D
Following the match, Ray says that 3D is the greatest, but music hits, and the Gangstas make their way out to the ramp with a ton of weapons in hand.
New Jack and Mustafa come in and lay waste to 3D. New Jack staples D-Von's testicles before laying a trash can over him and whacking it with a hockey stick. He then hits Ray with a crutch, breaking it over his back. The Gangsta's music is still playing and this is just an exended beat down. New Jack grabs a guitar and smashes it over Gertner's head. 3D make it back up to their feet, and Ray hugs Mustafa and New Jack hugs D-Von. Balls and Axl get back into the ring and all six men celebrate.
Backstage, Raven talks about his history with Tommy Dreamer, especially their history as kids, when both were very different. Raven talks about how he got tougher and tougher, and how his career took off and Tommy's wallowed in obscurity, and then the friendship changed. Raven says Tommy couldn't handle not being the top guy. He says Tommy knows if you hurt someone emotionally it can hurt them for years, so Dreamer stole his girl. Raven says he's smarter though, because he waited for the right moment, and it took ten years, and this is Tommy's moment for glory, and Raven is going to hurt him, cripple him, and shatter his soul.
Jesse Neal talks about being able to see ECW live in Florida. He says it was insane and it just wasn't the same as other companies. Kaz says that he was lucky enough to be in the ring with some of the old school originals when he was training, and it was like living a dream.
Former ECW wrestlers get some time to pay homage to Joey Styles, complimenting him and telling him that he's the best at what he does. Jerry Lynn even gets a little bit of promo time, which is nice, especially considering he's not able to perform tonight.
"The Final Showdown"
- Raven vs. Tommy Dreamer
Mick Foley, the special guest referee, is the first man out to the ring, to a huge pop from the crowd.
Raven is the first of the two competitors to make his way to the ring, and he gets a decent reaction from the crowd. Raven makes sure to stop by Dreamer's wife, who's sitting next to Dixie Carter at ringside. Dreamer is out next, to a really nice pop from the Impact Zone.
The start:
Foley tells both men that anything goes, but this is the final showdown and someone will win and someone will lose. Raven starts things off by kicking Dreamer below the belt. Raven tosses Dreamer to the outside. He follows and buries his boot in Tommy's midsection before slamming him into the guardrail back first with a Russian leg sweep. Raven tosses a chair into the ring before stomping at Dreamer and sending him back into the ring.
Mid-match notes:
Back in the ring Raven wedges the chair in between the second and third rope, but when he tries to whip Dreamer into it, it backfires and Dreamer counters, sending Raven into his own trap. Raven rolls to the outside, and Dreamer follows, hitting him with left and rights. Raven smiles, so Dreamer grabs a fans beer, spits some in Raven's eyes, and slams the can into his head repeatedly.
Dreamer sends Raven back into the ring where he sets two chairs up side by side. Dreamer tries to suplex Raven into the chairs, but Raven turns it around, hitting a drop toe hold to send Dreamer head first into both chairs. Dreamer rolls to the outside and Raven follows with a chair. Raven uses the chair to slam into Dreamer's head and Tommy is split open. Raven stares at Dreamer's wife and kids and Tommy's family is leaving the ringside area. Raven is pounding away on Dreamer and he's a bloody mess. Raven tries to hit Dreamer with a chair but Dreamer ducks and Raven connects with the ring post. Raven sends Dreamer into the rings steps instead, slamming him headfirst into the top step. Raven brings things back into the ring.
Raven stomps away at Dreamer, before setting up a chair in the middle of the ring. Raven tries to whip Tommy into the ropes, but Dreamer turns it around and hits a drop toe hold, sending Raven face first into the seat of the chair. Dreamer goes to the outside and grabs a 'fans' sign, that has a street sign concealed in it, and he whacks Raven with it, sending Raven to the outside. When Raven comes back into the ring he's split open and Dreamer suplexes his on top of the sign. Dreamer goes to the outside where he grabs a ladder. Dreamer brings it in and puts it in the corner in between the bottom and middle rope. Dreamer turns his attention back to Raven and he bites away at Raven's forehead. Dreamer drags Raven by his legs and places his head under the ladder, sling-shotting him up, face first into the ladder.
Dreamer sets Raven on the top turnbuckle, and puts the ladder in between the second and third ropes. Dreamer stands on the ladder, but Raven fights back and Dreamer falls through in a nasty spot. Raven hits I believe a clothesline and Tommy crashes to the mat. Dreamer kicks out of a pin attempt, and when Raven brings him up to his feet, Dreamer is able to connect with the Dreamer driver out of nowhere, but Dreamer doesn't even try for a pin. Dreamer sets Raven up in the tree of woe and stomps down on Raven's groin before setting the street sign in front of Raven's face and hitting him with a giant dropkick.
Dreamer goes to the outside where he grabs a tiny bit of barbed wire. Dreamer uses the wire to scrape across Ravens forehead. The barbed wire is in Raven's mouth and Dreamer is yanking back. Nova and fake Meanie run in and take out Foley while Raven taps. They then attack Dreamer. Fake Meanie goes to the top rope where he tries for a frog splash, but he misses. Dreamer connects with a DDT on fake Meanie, and a neckbreaker on Nova, but Raven is there to catch Dreamer with a DDT. Dreamer kicks out of a cover and Raven argues with Foley, shoving him. Foley responds with a series of right hands before reaching in his trunks and grabbing the sock, using it to apply the mandible claw. Someone, who's apparently Raven's lackey comes in with a top rope leg drop, but he's quickly taken out by Foley who hits him with a barbed wire mandible claw.
The blood is gushing out of this kids mouth as Foley takes him to the back. In the ring, Raven has handcuffs which he uses to trap Dreamer's arms behind his back. Raven grabs a chair and uses it to hit Dreamer across the back. Foley screams at Raven that Dreamer is helpless. Dreamer's wife runs out to the ring, and she begs Raven to stop. Raven looks conflicted, and Dreamer's wife gives him a hug. Raven pushes her off and hits Dreamer in the head with the chair. He goes for Dreamer's wife and Foley tries to stop him, so he eats a couple of chair shots for his trouble. Dreamer's wife hits a low blow, and Dreamer is kind of able to connect with a DDT, but it's still only good for a two count.
The finish:
Raven has the chair and he uses it to hit Dreamer over the head before dropping him on top of it with a DDT. Raven pins Dreamer and he gets the three count.
Winner: Raven
After the match, Dreamer makes his way up the ramp with his wife to a ton of applause from the crowd. Dreamer thanks the fans while they chant 'E-C-Dub'.
Jeremy Borash is backstage with So Cal Val, and it's not long before they're interrupted by New Jack and Mustafa. New Jack asks Val if she knows what you say about black guys, once you go black, you get bad credit. Mustafa chases Val away, and New Jack says that makes JB his bitch. JB makes sure to plug TNA's website before he goes off-screen with New Jack,
The originals get a chance to talk about Paul E. Heymen, and there is nothing negative said, which is a little bit surprising when you really think about how ECW ended. I guess time really does heal all wounds.
Singles Match
- TNA Champion Rob Van Dam vs. Sabu
Rob Van Dam is the first man out to the ring with Alfonso in tow. He gets a nice pop from the crowd, and Fonzie won't stop tooting on the d--- whistle. Alfonso runs back up the entrance ramp and takes off his 'RVD' jacket. He makes his way back to the ring with Sabu, unsurprisingly, still tooting that d--- whistle.
The start:
Interestingly, Van Dam doesn't even get a mentioned as the TNA World Champion. The bell rings, and Sabu tries right off the bat to dive into Van Dam's legs. Another attempt and RVD avoids it again. Both men have a bit of a pose off before locking up. Sabu goes behind and locks up RVD until Van Dam is able to get into the ropes. RVD bails to the outside and poses for the crowd. Fonzie advises Sabu to pose for the fans. Another leg dive and Sabu gets it this time, but he's kicked right off by RVD.
Mid-match notes:
Another lock up and RVD gets a side head lock. Things change quickly as we get some nice chain wrestling from both men. It's pretty obvious that both of these guys know each other well. Fonzie throws a chair in the middle of the ring and Sabu comes up with it, throwing it with force into RVD's head before setting it up, and jumping off of it, splashing RVD in the corner. Sabu gets a near fall and RVD rolls to the outside. Sabu hits a baseball slide that sends RVD into the crowd. Sabu sets up a chair in the ring and uses it to jump to the top rope, and then the outside on top of RVD.
Sabu makes it back into the ring and RVD is there shortly after. Sabu goes right for the cover but RVD kicks out. Sabu locks in the reverse chin lock and stomps on RVD before picking up the chair and slamming it down into RVD's back. Sabu applies a modified camel clutch with a chair across Van Dam's back for a bit before setting up another chair and trying for another splash in the corner. This time though, RVD dropkicks the chair into Sabu's legs. RVD sets up the chair and tries to monkey flip Sabu on top of it, but it looks like Sabu pretty much misses it. RVD throws the chair into Sabu's head and tries for a pin but he only gets two. Sabu sends Van Dam into the corner and follows it up with a big clothesline that's good for a two count.
Sabu and RVD both go for springboard moves in the corner and collide, crashing down to the mat. Fonzie comes into the ring and backs the referee off. He tosses both RVD and Sabu water, telling them both to drink up. They then both go to the outside where they both grab tables. They then run around to the hard camera side of the ring where RVD jumps up to the apron and right off with a single leg drop kick to Sabu's face. RVD picks Sabu up and hits a front suplex, placing him on the barricade. RVD goes to the apron and hits the corkscrew leg drop on Sabu, who's still hung up on the barricade.
Van Dam rolls Sabu into the ring on top of an unfolded table, and places a chair on Sabu's chest, sling-shotting himself out to the apron with a big leg drop across Sabu's chest. Van Dam tries for a quick cover, but he only gets two. Sabu charges RVD in the corner, but he eats a shoulder. Van Dam climbs the ropes, and Fonzie throws a chair to Sabu who throws it at RVD's face. Sabu puts the chair in the middle of the ring and hits a top rope hurricanrana that sends RVD back first on top of the chair. Sabu then hits a chair assisted Arabian facebuster, but it's not enough to keep RVD down. RVD hits a drop toe hold and Sabu's face is smashed into a chair. RVD crotches Sabu on the top rope and he calls Fonzie into the ring and asks him to hold the chair in front of Sabu, Fonzie obliges and RVD connects with the Van Daminator.
RVD rolls Sabu back in the ring and hits a split legged moonsault that's good for a two, and Sabu keeps grabbing his nost. RVD goes for a table and begins setting it up, and Sabu has a chair that he uses to toss at Van Dam's back, then his face. Sabu hits a leg drop, but RVD is in the ropes and the ref doesn't count it. Sabu is whipped into the corner and RVD connects with a big kick to the face. Van Dam sets a chair on Sabu's chest and connects with rolling thunder.
RVD grabs a chair, and uses it to assist a corner dropkick, slamming the chair into Sabu's head. Sabu starts to fight back, hitting a big boot and a springboard twisting DDT that sends Van Dam head first into one of the chairs in the ring. Sabu goes for the cover but Van Dam kicks out at two. Sabu drills Van Dam with a chair assisted leg drop but it's still only good enough for a near fall.
The finish:
Sabu brings RVD to his feet and drapes him across the table, but when he dives off the top with a chair assisted leg drop, Van Dam is able to avoid it and Sabu crashes through the table. RVD goes up top to hit the five star frog splash and he connects. RVD pins Sabu, and this one is over.
Winner: Rob Van Dan
Fonzie helps Sabu to his feet while RVD celebrates, but Sabu drops right back down to his knees. Sabu talks to the ref and points to his ribs. RVD hands the belt to Fonzie and backs him off. He goes to help Sabu, but Sabu pushes him away. Sabu stops though, and hugs Van Dam before raising his hand.
The Originals make their way down to the ring with beers in hand, and everyone gets a brew. Lots of 'thank you' chants. Everyone toasts with everyone else, and even Dixie Carter gets a beer. 'F you Vince' chants. Dreamer grabs the mic, he thanks Taz and Tenay and says they've got beers for them. Dreamer thanks everyone watching at home, saying this couldn't have happened without Dixie Carter. Brother Ray grabs Dixie and brings her up to the ring. Dreamer says to everyone in TNA, they set the bar, and hopes that they can raise it. Dreamer says that was one hell of an F'n Pay Per View, and he thanks the fans once more.

It was confirmed over the weekend that former ECW Champion Jerry Lynn has been forced to pull out of his main event match with Rob Van Dam scheduled for tonight's TNA Hardcore Justice pay-per-view.
Fanhouse.com reached Lynn, who commented on the disappointment of having to miss tonight's match.
"I've been looking forward to this match for years and finally thought it was going to happen" Lynn said.
Lynn and Rob Van Dam had several classic matches on ECW pay-per-views in the late 90s that included several "Match of the Year" candidates and set the standard for PPV main events at the time.
"Unfortunately, I got hurt. I'm really disappointed and hopefully it will happen in the future."

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Rob Van Dam is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Inside Wrestling.
As reported earlier today, tomorrow night's TNA HardCORE Justice pay-per-view main event between Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn will not take place as advertised. Lynn sustained a severe injury to either his back or hip while working out at the gym last week. He went to the doctor several times trying to get it fixed but reportedly decided within the past day that there was no way he'd be able to compete.
Regarding the replacement main event, company officials are contemplating several ideas and there is talk of having RVD put his championship on the line. With that being said, the company has plans booked several months in advance and thus a title switch tomorrow night is highly unlikely. (source: www.f4wonline.com)
-- A few weeks ago on Twitter, Jeff Jarrett was posting hints concerning a "surprise." He then wrote a few days ago that he stopped posting the hints due a non-disclosure agreement being signed. In an update on the matter, he clarified yesterday that he never said his "news" was wrestling related.
He wrote, "FYI...I NEVER said my "news" I was going to talk about was wrestling related...but, a NDA was signed, so clues still to come...but later..."

Guest: Nitro Girl Spice
Date: 8/4/10
Your Hosts: Patrick Kelley, James Walsh, & Nick Noel
The Nitro Girls burst, or shimmied, onto the scene in the summer of 1997. This bold move for World Championship Wrestling added a new element to the fast rising Monday Nitro broadcast. The group of dancing girls quickly became a big part of the WCW fan experience and thus became superstars in their own right.
This weekend at the NWA Legends Fan Fest in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Nitro Girls ride again as original members Tygress, Fyre, and tonight's guest Spice reunite to meet the fans some 13 years after their inception into our great sport.
Spice has done very few interviews. But, our goal is to bring you the best interviews that we know how. We invite you to listen to this interview at www.WrestlingEpicenter.com and hear what we have to offer. We have over 350 other interviews to listen to, free of charge, right now as well. And, a store with some amazing wrestling merchandise. So, please check us out!
SPICE
- Spice joins the show at 11 p.m. and apologizes. She was training a new fitness crew at a location she is soon to open in Alabama and forgot the time difference. James and Patrick joked that they feared she would be the female version of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper to the show... A guest that has been booked a number of times and somehow never actually ended up doing the show. Spice laughed and apologized.
- Spice is still heavily involved in fitness. She owns a series of spas and a production company which she remains heavily involved in. She auditioned an idea through the Oprah Winfrey show to be a part of Oprah's new broadcast. She tallied up a respectable 13,000 votes but not enough to be in the running to have the show picked up. Ironically, Diamond Dallas Page was also a part of that competition. They tried to help each other get votes by promoting their videos on each other's social networking pages. Spice says that DDP and her idea are very much alike. She feels that the exposure with the Oprah contest helped her show idea get attention and some things are now in the works. The show, by the way, is a fitness show with a twist.
- Despite going out in front of over 16,000 screaming fans at the O Arena in Orlando as her first appearance for WCW, Spice wasn't stunned by the crowd. She had danced at the 1996 Olympic opening ceremonies in Atlanta, GA in front of 100,000 people including President Clinton. So, the amount of people watching didn't really phase her. She did, however, put over the loyalty of the wrestling fans.
- Spice put over Miss Elizabeth, Madusa, and Jacqueline as icons of our business and said it was a honor to work with them.
- When asked how the reaction was to the Nitro Girls getting TV time when the WCW roster was, at that point, overloaded, she says that they were there to help WCW with the famale aspect. James mentions that at the time that the Nitro Girls came out, the WWE was heavily using Sunny and Sable. Spice said that is partially why they were brought in, to try and make sure that the show had that element to it. But, Spice was proud that the Nitro Girls didn't come out in thongs and such and felt that it was something that the frat boys could enjoy but the parents didn't have to worry about either. Spice also mentions that a lot of women also liked the Nitro Girls more than the singular valet role which WCW was trying to get away from because the Nitro Girls were somehow less threatening for their boyfriends to watch.
- Spice feels hindsight is always 20-20 as it concerns herself and others becoming more involved with the storylines. She feels they did what was asked and tried to make the best of it.
- The Nitro Girls Swimsuit Video was something she was extremely proud of... Before Turner officials insisted they scrap the one that was made and do another one where they had a lot more "girl on girl" action. She has nothing against the "girl on girl" stuff but it wasn't them and was done to try to sell units, she says. She said a few years ago she did an appearance in Atlanta and someone had the video playing and she was embarrassed. James mentioned that she, in particular, did a "able dance in a thong. Spice kind of groans and says that wasn't her and wasn't what the piece was to be. She feels Turner shot down the original because they wanted more T & A.
- The original Nitro Girls video was tasteful. It was co-hosted by Riki Rachtman and still had the swimsuits and so forth but was presented in a way she was proud of. She wasn't nearly as proud of what ultimately left the cutting room floor and hit video shelves.
- As an 80's metal head, James is forced to ask about Headbangers Ball host Riki Rachtman. Rachtman was around the Nitro Girls so much that they gave him a Nitro Girls name, "Bitter" was the name. She loves Riki and says they spent many mornings finding ways to bring about world peace over a cup of coffee.
- Diversity 5 was to be the next generation of the Spice Girls. She said that the original line up was herself, Chae, Tygress, Fyre, and Storm (Sharmell). Sharmell, as we all know, is Booker T's wife and ultimately joined up with Booker in the WWE. Also a former Nitro Girl, Chikita, took her place. Chikita was the best singer of the group.
- The plan was to have the group capitalize on their WCW popularity and take that into the music business. Ultimately, the fact that the record industry was changing both in musical styles as well as in how it was promoted (IPods, ITunes, etc) was the beginning of the end. And, at the end of the day, it wasn't any of their dreams to be pop stars. They were approached to do it and while they wanted to do it, it wasn't their primary goal.
- Spice says she can sing like Britney Spears... She can sell a song and carry a tune but she can't do anything crazy vocally.
- Spice hasn't been with the original Nitro Girls group since Christmas of 2009. She is looking forward to meeting the fans and promises they'll have a lot of cool stuff available to the fans including rare swag and so forth. She will be paired up with Fyre and Tygress. Chae canceled as she is expecting her second child and is 7 months pregnant. She didn't think the wrestling fans would want to see her heavily pregnant.
- Word association: Scott Steiner. Spice says that is a tough one. She thinks Scott takes shots at the Nitro Girls because it is his persona to be the "bad boy" and he was always that way. She also feels people tear down others to build themselves up. And, by saying controversial things, Scott ensures attention on himself. She doesn't say anything negative about Steiner, though.
- Spice invites fans to keep up with her on Facebook. Her real name is Melissa Grill Peterson. She asks fans to put a little note that they are Spice fans or what have you if they friend request her so she knows to add them.

In a shades similar to past incidents with Kofi Kingston and Ken Anderson, Randy Orton was visibly upset with The Miz following his match against Jey Uso during the July 26 Raw.
After hitting the RKO on Sheamus, Miz entered the ring to tease cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase. "The Viper" then hit the RKO on Miz and was unable to hide his frustration. The word coming out of the show is that Orton felt Miz was positioned in a manner that indicated he was about to be hit with the signature maneuver.
Similarly, Orton angrily reacted during a bout with Kingston last January when the Ghanaian grappler messed up the timing of the finish. Orton was seen on-camera shouting "stupid," among other obscenities, towards him. It is said that Kingston's "main event" push at the time was single handedly derailed due to the incident. Likewise, Anderson's untimely dismissal from World Wrestling Entertainment last year was largely attributed to Orton, as a result of the former Mr. Kennedy inadvertently dropping "The Viper" on his head with a back suplex. Orton later admitted to complaining to management about Anderson's in-ring work, which was the primary reason for his release from the organization.
